I'd definitely recommend this book, it has sections on housing, food, grooming, breeding, illnesses and emergencies and it even has a section on the different species of syrian, dwarf and chinese hamsters, so you can try and identify which kind of hamster you have. It's ideal for those considering buying a hamster and for those who've already got one (or more). Quite simply it's my hamster bible!
