I have seen considerable evidence to link woodshavings and other softwood based beddings with health problems in small animals, especially respiratory problems and liver damage. Paper and cardboard based beddings are much safer.

This product is good but my adult male rex rat developed a respiritory problem because of the dust from the shavings. My other rats seem to be fine on it though so really this product is great, just not for flu infested critters! = ]
