
Introduction
It’s not often that a company grows from 1 to over 200 stores in little over 15 years but then we are not your average business. In May 2007 we opened our 200th store in Barnstaple and we are not stopping there. Annual turnover is now in excess of £300 million and we have plans for at least another 20 stores a year as we grow towards our target of 400+ Pets at Home superstores. In 2007, in recognition of our achievements, we won Retail Week’s Speciality Retailer of the Year award.
At Pets at Home our aim is to provide industry leading pet care through providing industry leading service. After all, if we provide unbeatable service to our two legged customers the ultimate beneficiaries will be our four legged customers (or perhaps our fishy friends). However, make no mistake, this is real retail. For hands on, front line customer interaction and all out “buzz” Pets at Home is unbeatable.
Life at Pets at Home in stores, Support Centre and the NDC is underpinned by our values. These values were created from the “shop floor” up and truly reflect the way that everyone works within the business. You will not find the values on a poster in our Support Centre reception but you will find them present in everyone who works for the business. The values are:
