My name is Jim, I've worked for Pets at Home for over 3 years. My work mates are great, as I am much older than most, I find that we all talk about the same things i.e. football, fishing and many more subjects. The bosses all call everyone by their first names and treat you with the greatest respect. If you have a problem they will listen to you and if you come up with a good idea they will try to implement it. I wish I had found Pets at Home when they first came to Stoke-on-Trent.

Since my start date the Company has provided all the staff with improved amenities, i.e. New Canteen television, drying room etc. They appear to want to take care of their employees and assist in which ever way they can.

Julie, Blue Shift Section LeaderMy name is Julie I started working for Pets at Home NDC three and a half years ago. Before joining I had always worked in the pottery industry.

I am currently appointed as a Section Leader for the mezzanine on Blue Shift.

I find my team to be very flexible and I always treat my team as I would like to be treated myself, which has gained me respect from all. We all work as a team and when the going gets tough we all muck in to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I enjoy the challenge as I have to make my own decisions and have to manage my staff where I see fit. Everyday is different so you never know what to expect.

I enjoy the mezzanine because through the job that I do it has given me more confidence and I now feel that I am a good people’s person. We all have the greatest respect for each other which makes us all a good team.
