WHAT AN AWEFUL PRODUCT!!! VERY LOUD

What an aweful product. i recently bought a new tank for my living room and needed a bigger air pump for it.
i went for the AV4 as i was on the understanding it was very quiet. this is not the case! it is so loud i can hear it in my hallway even with the living room door shut. ive tried putting it on foam, on sponges and old clothing to try and stop any vibration but the actual unit itself makes a hell of alot of noise.
i pluged in my older air pump (not big enough for the tank really) to see if this made any where near the same sort of noise and it was near enough silent.

Unfortunaly i have thrown the box away for this item else it would be getting returned to Pets at Home straight away as it it is totally unusable. what a waste of nearly £40

The product isnt noisy, its small and descreat. only problem is i was told you got a valve in with it so you can change the pressure of the water no you have to buy that aswell. The product i cant fault, just dissapointed that the staff dont know what they are selling.

This pump works fine. It is noisy and rattles if you don't have the one-way return valve fitted, but with a bit of resistance it's silent

I recently bought this pump from Pets at Home in Reading. I have 90L aquarium tank. Bought one air stone, one air bubbler disk (medium size) and one bubbler ornament (toy). This pump works well. It is not that noirsy as few have commented here , may be because I have used connections within the llimits of the pump. It was doing some noise but I found that that noise was more to do with vibration of the shelf in my aquarium cabinet. Put the pump on proper level and its fine.

wow....after reading the reviews i was somewhat sceptical about this product,however i purchased the av 1 and av 3 for my 30 litre and 60 litre tanks and i was pleasantly surprised.both pumps are very powerful and almost silent,even though the smaller of the two is situated on a glass table.i have 4 airstones connected to the larger with no problem or loss of flow.i am really pleased and so are my danios who love the speedy current in their little home.

Noisy and vibates badly

Had the product set up to a single 2" airstone. Pump vibrates really badly and is extremely noisy. I can hear it from accross the lounge, will be returning it to the shop...

got this on my tank as a upgrade as the old one was noisy and loud but my god no where near as much as the new on not sure if its a faulty pump or what but its very noisy and loud,

give plenty of air which is what i needed

We are sorry to hear you had some problems with the Airvolution Aquarium 2 Air Pump and forwarded on your comments to the supplier who have provided the following response:

"This is unusual as the Airvolution has several features such as sound proofing and high grade silicon tubing to minimise sound.

The position of the pump such on hard surfaces or next to cupboard wall can cause additional noise to be created by the vibration against the hard surface.

Also, sometimes the connecting valves in the air lines can be “throttled back” too much reducing air flow, which can cause excess noise.

We would be happy to receive the pump back for our QA team to check over and replace as required."

It stated 5 air pump valve, no where in the description does it state you need further products to make it a five air pump. I had a wasted journey. Not at all happy
