I have had this feeder for 9 years and it has never let me down,it is very well made and durable.Ideal for weekends away without the need for a cattery.My personal opinion is that it's better for dry food than wet food especially in summer as although it does come with ice packs the feeder isn't airtight so I only use dry food in it.I have never had a problem with it and would highly recommend,it's really nice to know I have an emergency back up if needed.It is quite pricey to buy initially but I have more than paid for it over the years.

I have worked with animals for 9years but never thought of a cat feeder until my vet suggested it for my 2cats
I brought this item and returned it within 3days
It didn't work - my cats were pawing at it trying t get food
Wouldn't recommend

We have had ours for 7 years and it is used fairly regularly for Friday to Sunday feeding when we are away. Cat has no worries using it. The cool blocks keep it fresh enough for the weekend and its usually cleaned out when we return. Moggie is much happier staying at home for a weekend with the feeder then being hauled to a cattery.

My Mum has one too and her cat is much happier with it then a cattery, in a cattery she refuses to eat!!

Another family member has also had one for over 5 years with no fuss.

You do have to set it up correctly which isn't rocket science! If you try to have it go off too close to the time you set it up you could cause it to not go off, and I find it is best to set the time a little earlier as the timer has to pass the point before the bowl opens but even if you don't do this moggie still gets fed just has to wait a little longer. You must make sure you have a decent battery (no brainer) and put the bowl down so you don't dislodge the battery i.e. don't drop it down, but the guide on the top will let you know if the timer has stopped ticking.

If you are responsible and check the set up properly this is a great alternative to the cattery and whilst it is a little pricey initially, 7 years of not paying for a cattery soon outweighs the cost!

There is always a chance you buy a dodgy one as with anything in this life, so check it out before you use it in anger. If you are anything like us you'll find its perfect and you won't look back.

Bought this because I felt that for short weekends away my cat would be happier at home than in the cattery. I only used my three times before the mechanism failed. I did make sure the battery was ok and that I'd set it properly but the mechanism had worn out and wasn't strong enough to flip the feeder tray around so I returned to a hungry unimpressed cat. Thankfully I'd left a full packet of Whiskas treats in the living room with a lid on as fall back which he managed to get into so didn't go completely without food! Will look at an alternative product by a different manufacturer.

As I am sure others have, I bought this to allow myself and partner to have an overnight stay after enjoying a night out or similar.We purchased two of the bowls for our adult indoor cats and let the cats use them for the first few days. There did not seem to be any problem at first, until we left them for one night and both products were destroyed, the timer ripped to peaces, lid snapped off and food everywhere.It is obvious that this product has not been thoroughly tested with cats or it would be far more durable and at over £40 each it is daylight robbery. If the product was priced at £5 each, it might be bordering on reasonable as you are only going to get a few uses at best, before it will be broken.

Bought this product so my husband and I could have the odd night/weekend out without worrying about our cat.
It was easy to set up after reading instructions and the timer worked perfectly on the test run and every time since. The lid is made of quite thin plastic, so you do have to be careful when setting it up.
Was slightly disappointed that the compartments aren't air tight. This means you can only leave wet food for your cat for the first 12hrs or so before it dries out. So now we make the first 2 feeds wet and the other 3 dry and it works perfectly.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Flimsy mechanism. The plastic cracked and warped after 2 or 3 uses and now, after about 10 uses, it is unusable.

Cheap and flimsy product and mechanism that was unreliable until it broke after just a few times of use. Food compartments are a poor shape for cats-they have a wedge their heads into the corner to get at the food.

I bought this product as we are going away for a couple of days and wanted to make sure our cat had her usual meals. What a disappointment! The first one we bought didn't work at all (thank goodness i checked before leaving!) We brought it back and were told that we had to push down firmly on the lid for it to work (If so this is not written in any of the instructions?) So, armed with a new one I did just that, tested it with no food in it and it did work. Content that our cat would be happy we decided to go away for a night. Came back to the timer moving round but the lid in the same place and a very hungry cat. Am i doing something wrong? The instructions are not in any way clear and as far as i can see it does not work!

We bought this product when we were going away for a few days and needed to leave some wet food down for the cats whilst we were gone. It didn't let us down and worked perfectly, we came home to it all empty and happily fed cats.

Its a great product as each section can fit 3/4 of a can of wet food which is great as its enough for several cats (we also give our cats a dry diet also). It also has a 96 hour timer with a section for ice packs to help it last/stay fresh and that is very useful as it means it can last several days. There are other similar products that don't have the ice packs included so its a great bonus to have it included with the product as it should be supplied with every product in our opinion.

I'm not sure what else I can say, it worked perfectly and the cats took to it quickly. We tried it a few times before we went away and it was fine. A great way to get your cats used to it is to put some food in each section at a meal time without the top on, we found this really worked for our cats so they knew what it was. Of course when we went away we had the top on but it helped them to know there was food in it.

I agree with another reviewer, you might want to shut yourself away as you fill up the feeder otherwise they'll mob you and try and eat all the food before you've had time to put the top on!

Not that we need another one but if we did I would happily buy it again and recommend it to all.
