A great little fish tank, easy to set-up and maintain. I have just got 2 goldfish in mine and the water stays crystal clear just from doing a 1/3 water change every 2 weeks and changing the filter every 6 weeks. I use the small pellet fish food as the goldfish flake food seemed to make the water hazy.
The only downside i suppose is the cost of the service kits, however you can save money if you buy these online.

We've had our fish for one year and we have three fish in it. They are already far too big for it, the filter doesn't work well even though we've replaced the sponges etc as recommended, and it is very hard to clean. We are just looking on this site to buy a bigger one and thought we should share our experience. It is also quite noisy.

perfect for when space is limited, looks great, many accessories available. Look at heater size if making it a tropical tank (can get them from 10cm which is ideal) Ideal for a small no of fish.

Love my moonlight baby biOrb, ( I was told you can have around 9 to 12 small fishes in the tank without too much trouble) so at the moment I have 2 zebra danio's + 5 white cloud mountain minnow's & hope to add some platies soon, looks really lovely at night with the blue light on. They all love it when being fed as I lightly tap the glass when food is delivered! The zebra's go nuts & come to me at the side of the tank !! Honest! Give to your fish and they will respond just like any animal I feel.
I Change around the plants from week to week to make it more interesting for me & the fish too, When I clean their water, which is so easy to do, I dont get bored then! Only thing is with my Cloud minnows' I have lost 2 of them in the cartridge how I have no idea!
Great invention I think personally as is my first ever fish tank!

This tank is brilliant.
You can add one goldfish after leaving it full of water for three days (don't worry, it's not true, fish don't die of loneliness!) and a sucker fish (fleco) after two weeks to help with the cleaning.
Only use the big stones that come with the tank as smaller ones can block the filter. There is so many decorations to choose from you can match it to your own style but I would only have one or two plants and a small pot or ornament.
You only have to change a third of the water every week at the beginning and every two weeks when the water stabilises itself. You'll never need to change all the water in the tank so it's not stressful to the fish.
Decorations can just be taken out and cleaned in hot water (no soaps) and put back in again.
The pump can be a bit noisy if it is leaning against something and a bit loud for night if it's in a bedroom, so you just turn it all off at night and you can still have the pump on during the day and choose whether you want the light on or not.
If you have the light on too much it makes moss grow quicker, so it's best to leave it off during the day.
There will be small bubbles on the inside of the tank for the first week or so but these are only from all the fresh water going in and they will disappear.
Remember if you are adding new fish in, to add white spot treatment 5-6 days before.
My goldfish (Rusty) has been living three months now and my sucker fish (Fungus) has been living a month, the longest I have ever kept any fish and they're still very lively and healthy.
Very easy to take care of and brightens up any room :)

This tank is in the science room at school, and it looks great! The only problem is that the platies in it always swim down the bubble pipe and get stuck so they die. The great thing about this tank is that at one point(because they bred so much)there were like 20 plates in there!!!!!! Most of these have now been moved to another tank but there must still be about 10 in there!!!

Bought this tank a few weeks ago and have had no problems with it. So easy to set up!
I have 4 White Cloud Mountain Minnows in this tank and they are very happy. I've never been one to add all sorts of chemicals to the water in my tanks - messing about with things, and I've always had very long lived fish!

I do a 30% water change ever 2-3 weeks and will clean/replace the filter sponge when it's dirty.

I would not suggest having goldfish in this tank as it's a bit too small - my Mountain Minnows are the perfect size for this tank!

The pump was a bit noisy and i found the air flow a little too strong for the Minnows so i bought an airline clip to slow down the flow - which also made the pump quieter! The fish still get enough air bubbles/oxygen in the tank.

Tank looks good, but is really hard to keep clean. I have had to change the bulb 3 times in the last year, and they are not cheap also the White stones we bought were expensive and get really dirty really quickly. My advice to anyone looking for a small tank is go for something more practical.

Originally popped a load of neons in here, with BiOrb recommendations. Lost all but 3 within a year. Pain to clean out. Have to remove bubble tube, and all dirt flies out, mucking up the whole tank. Food and dirt gets trapped in the ceramic media, causing excess ammonia. Air pump also tempermental and can take hours for the filter to start up again after swtiching it off (eg for a filter cartridge change). Only apropriate for bettas or shrimp. However, even still, the ceramic media damages the bettas long, delicate fins. Looks good with the BiOrb decorations, but not in any way practical.

If you're looking for a tank, please just get an ordinary rectangular tank, or anything, so long as it isn't a BiOrb.

We're sorry to hear you've experienced an issue with your biOrb.

The baby biOrb is designed for up to six small bodied fish. As long as the aquarium is not overstocked the filtration should be able to cope with the amount of waste being produced. An overstocked aquarium will take more hard work to maintain.
An excessive amount of food and dirt in the ceramic media would indicate that the aquarium is being fed very generously which can lead to water quality issues that can affect the fishes health.

With regards to the air pump, there are a number of things that can affect the air pump such as its age, positioning, condition of the air stone and one way valves, but temperamental operation is unusual.
