They are fur, feather and dust free so will not cause any of the allergic reactions that may be associated with other pets, and do not smell if maintained correctly.
They are an easy amphibian to care for, as long as the correct environmental conditions are provided. They are mostly nocturnal, being most active after the main vivarium lights or room lights have been turned off. It is possible to use night lighting systems so that you can view your pets activities after dark.
There are many different species of Tree frogs available as pets, this guide is intended to give general care information that can be applied to the majority of species, but you must always find put the specific requirements of the species you intend to keep.
Tree frogs are generally sociable and like to live in groups. A pair of small/medium frogs can be kept in a 45cm x 45cm x 60cm tall vivarium suitably set up for their species needs.
Tree frogs like to climb and feel more secure higher up in a vivarium; always give them plenty of branches and vines etc. to climb on.
Disposable gloves that are not covered in powder may be used to prevent damage to the frogs skin.
frogs are generally very hardy animals and do not normally suffer from many health problems. If a problem does occur, the majority consist of bacterial and fungal infections. These usually develop if the frog has been stressed; for example by high temperature, incorrect humidity or poor handling.
Always seek veterinary advice if your frog appears unwell.
