I use the product on a small dog that had mange and therefore couldn't use a collar, since then I have swapped all dogs that I walk\look after onto a harnesses as they seem more comfortable. I also use it on a blind rabbit so that she can get some excercise without injury and this type is cheap and seems to work better than the ones designed for rabbits. The only problem is that if a large dog doesn't like you touching their feet then it's difficult to put on as you can't lift them so their front paws go in the holes and then put . It on like a jacket
