I bought this item as a pellet feeder for my 3 chickens and I must say it works really well. I remove it at night after the chicks have gone to bed, wash and dry it, and refill ready for the next day. It keeps the rain off the food so no clogging up and the chickens can all get their heads into the separate compartments so no squabbling over the bowl.

Very pleased with the product, I thought it was a bad idea to buy it as it only had one large area for grit and cost me [$], however when it arrived in the post I was very surprised to find it had three sections in the middle. I have been using it as there everyday feeder and am very happy with the fact i can have pellets, mash and grit all in at the same time. there's less pots to put into their run with the different foods. The food doesn't seem to be getting wet from the rain thanks to the top cover.I would recommend it to anyone for it's convenience.

Although the product is designed and sold for use with chickens, I found it to be very useful for feeding the pigeons and blackbirds on my patio. Therefore, a product with great versatility.

As this sits on the floor of my chicken run, the chickens manage to sweep everything into it, covering up all the grit with whatever happens to be on the ground which isn't ideal as they then can't access the grit! It would be a better design to have something you can hang from the side of the run.
