We have a lab who poo's both & home. & on a walk. We went for this product because it seemed like a better long term solution than picking up the poo in the garden & binning it.

Its quite simple to put together & in theory easy to use. Fill with water add poo & bio activator. Leave. Occasionally flush it out & top up bio activator.

The problem we've found is that it doesn't drain away. Your supposed to dig a hole put in the tub & surround it with stones. When u flush it out the water goes through slots in the top of the tub & drains quickly into the stones then your soil below that.
However our garden is pure clay about 4 ft down so despite digging & filling a hole with stones double the depth & width suggested the water doesn't drain away quickly & eventually just comes to the surface. Making it impossible to fully flush out the tub. This problem is made worse if it's been raining recently & the ground is already waterlogged.

If you have a very sandy quick draining soil this might not be a problem for you. Bare in mind also that you probably spend as much as the cost of the product again on stones & the bio activator doesn't last very long either.

I would try this product again in a different garden with better draining soil. It is a good idea.

This loo does not do what it says on the tin!
the bio-activator only lasts about 3 months. We only have a medium size dog(staffie_X) who does go twice a day but not always at home.
NOt really happy with it. agree about the lid handle .
Found the bio-activator is available online but I seem not to be allowed to say from where I suggest you use a search engine if you need more.
WE are thinking of taking his poo to the local dog waste bin as I do not like the thought of it being in my flower bed. Not sure if it is good for plants BUT I want my garden to be organic. Now it is not!!
I am not happy. :-(

my boyfriend an i dug put stones down put loo in i filled it up 4 months ago it has not gone down one bit very disapointed (dont think i can retun this product)

We've had this product for over a year now, we had it installed when we were relaying the garden and had plenty of hardcore. Unlike the previous review, no ours does not block up. We have two huskies (med/large dogs) and considering the anmount of waste they produce it does very well. However dont go by the instructions of just a few buckets, it will take approx 6-10 to get it crystal clear. I empty mine out every week, if you have a few dogs it pretty good but if you have a pack, you'll find you'll be clearing it out too much for use.

The only con I have with this is I've just found out they've stopped doing the bio activator. According to the Bexhill branch that is. So it's lucky I normally go to my local pet shop for it even though it is a little bit more expensive there.

Installed correctly and having been warned that it can block we made the hole very deep and did everyhing by the book and more. We still ended up with a bucket of poo and now have to work out how to remove it from the garden. Unless you have a dog that only 'goes' once a week this cannot be recommended.

This dog loo is pretty easy to install, though you need a good supply of broken bricks and stones of various sizes. It is simple to use, and it works for disposing of the waste of just one small dog, though I needed to use more water to flush it out than the instructions stated. It does seem to be a sensible and environmentally responsible way of disposing of dog waste. One drawback: the design of the lid. The handle is set down into the lid, which is slightly concave, so that when it rains you have to immerse your hand in rainwater to open the lid. Also, I'm not sure that it would be big enough to handle the waste of several larger dogs.
