I am another one for who Frontline was next to useless. When I first used Spot on Gold the difference was amazing. Between treating the cats and the house (always do that as well) my little moggies were flea free within 48 hours!....
Only concern is at Bob Martin themselves... they have brought out a new line containing Fipronil, (excuse the spelling) the same stuff thats in Frontline, I hope and pray they dont replace Gold with it or I will have to hunt for an effective product again, and I dont think there is one out there as good!!!

i bought this because i was willing to give anything a try when, like many my cats caught fleas even after using frontline. I have to say i was pleasantly surprised when after an hour or so of application the little bugs started falling out of the cats fur. I also used staykill flea spray all over the house and had a thorough vacuum,and this seams to have done the trick.
I haven't seen the cats scratching like mad in two weeks.

so yes I am happy with this purchase but I do think the secret is treating both pet and house.

Worked well

Used this product on my cats after Frontline failed and I ended up with an infestation in the house. My poor cats where scratching so much they had trouble getting in their 23 hours sleep!

The active chemical in this product is different to Frontline and the fleas aren't immune to it. It also treats where the pets sleep.

For me, the best results happen when you comb your pet throughly with a flea comb (or nit comb). Remove as many fleas and flea dirt as you can, it also lets the cats natural skin oils start spreading through the fur, this means when you apply the product it's got a much better chance of working effectively.

As the box doesn't say about a cat weighing over 4kg I wasn't sure whether it would work on my 5.5kg tom. I was told in store that I shouldn't use two tubes (which shows they had very little product knowledge). Once I opened the box the instructions clearly state 2 tubes for cats over the 4kg weight range. So one box (3 tubes) does both cats for me, which suits my budget fine.

Just over 24 hours after treatment I noticed a visible difference. I combed through the fur for the next few days with the flea comb again and removed the last few dying fleas and dirt.

I treated my house with flea powder as well, this seems to have stopped the massive infestion I had.

As my cats enjoy the outdoors, they continue to bring in adult fleas, but the treatment seems to kill the fleas quickly, and my cats scratch nowhere near as much as before. I comb through their fur with the flea comb every now and then to check if there is fresh flea dirt.

So far so good.

If Frontline isn't working for you I'd recommend the above steps for this product: a good thorough combing, then treatment.

Also use some form of household treatment, too, and lots of vacuuming. My house has never looked so clean!

Worked a Treat!

It has been very humid this summer and our 21-year-old mixed breed persian cat had a terrible flea problem as a result. Worst of all she was giving fleas to the new kitten and the yorkshire terriers too. While Frontline worked for the dogs and Frontline Combo for the kitten, it did not help our old Dolly at all. We tried various flea treatments from flea collars, tablets and other spot-ons but like Frontline they only lated a week or so before the fleas were back.

Bob Martin Spot On has held for over 4 weeks and there are no sign of fleas on the cat. It is literally the only thing that has worked properly. There are plenty of horror stories out there about Bob Martin but provided you give your pet the correct amount, it is perfectly safe and very effective.

The only problem I have with it is that there are three spot-on treatments in the box when I needed only two to treat my cat. So I have had to buy another box for her next treatment, but it's only a little thing.

Otherwise, good product!

within using this product within 20 minutes it takes affect, i prefer to apply it on my pets at night, in the morning you see great results any fleas the pets have are killed and present where they have slept like any product you have to treat as nessessary to break the life cycle of the flea but i sure would recommend it.

it just does not work very well just like almost all the flea products you use on the back of the neck (the spot on type). A total waste off money

I found this bob martin spot on rubbish it did not kill any flees on my little dog they were still seen on her thankfully she didn't have many but thats not the point why did it not work? especially when this cost over[$] I ended up doing some research on the product ad found that most agreed ad some pets had been taken ill and even died from using it,very scary and worried me sick.I ended up getting some Johnsons flee and tick shampoo and also a cheaper flee collar and they worked well.
