We bought this after getting our dog neutered. First of all the clips; they were always falling off thus causing the collar to fall off meaning he could get to the operation site...so the point of buying the collar became void; however a very effective method we found was a shoelace, it has now since not come undone once. Secondly the outer rim, I did like the idea for the outside to be covered with a soft material with the dog sometimes walking into us, but after a couple of days the material started to tear and dangle down causing the dog to either trip or chew on it. And lastly the neck size and holes, even with a dog sitting patiently it was difficult to get the holes to match and even when it did the fit always looked either too small or too big.
Overall I am unhappy with this purchase the only pro to this buy was the cuteness of my dog being able to carry his toys round in the cone as if it were a handbag!

This was purchased as my rottweiler cross smashed the vets one into the door and it broke. I had to purchase the largest size due to the length of the cone but the neck fittings were awful. I couldnt match up the holes so that they actually fitted and ended up using cable ties as when I did get the clips through they continuously fell out.
It lasted 6 days before it had the same fate as the vets one and smashed which I wasnt too impressed with as when it borke it was beyond repair.
I would rather have got another from the vets

I bought it because my dog has a sore ear.
The padding around the edges is a good idea.
The clips on the collar come off too easy and are not very strong.
My dog has chewed them off.
Not value for money.

I bought this product to replace a 1 my dog was wearing from the vets as it broke and wasn't comfortable, these collars are much more comfortable and more flexible but the sizes are very out. The 1 I was given from vets was neck size 25cm so I bought the size 3 which is 29-38cm neck size which also isnt the same sizes which are stated online and this collar was about 5 cm shorter than the 25cm 1 from the vets I ended up having to buy a size 5!

After our lab was neutered and he'd damaged his buster collar from the vets we bought this as a replacement. After getting the right neck size we found he could still reach round and chew his stitches. So this product was completely useless for the job required.
If the injury is upper body it would be pretty good, though it did also pop open a few times when the dog attempted to get it off.
Don't buy hoping to stop your dog reaching lower limb/abdomen injuries.

Due to two operations our dog has had to wear the elizabethan collar 24 hours a day for 3 weeks. It is soft and flexible enough to be comfortable but prevents access to stitches.
It needs to have something to tie it on- we have used a length of bandage. It can't be attached to a traditional collar. Far superior to anything the vet provides and during a check up our vet was impressed with it.

I bought this as an emergency when my golden retriever puppy destroyed the one given by the vet. I don't think it will last although seems more gentle on the neck than the one from the vets. I can't see the clips holding and I did tie it to her collar with some tape as there seemed to be loop holes around the neck. Not sure if will last more than a couple of days and as it is Bank Holiday think I will be back to replace it before can get to the vets in 3 days time.!!!!!! Probable more suited to a small quiet pet, mine is lively.

Although this product looked good and had bindings at neck and top edge for my dog's comfort, it was not deep enough to stop him getting at his stitches on his back leg meaning a trip to the vet for repairs. After my dog destroyed the collar given to him by vet we needed a quick replacement. This appears much sturdier than the one given by the vet, has no silly patterns and is easier to take on and off the dog for feeding, cleaning etc unlike the ones that attach to the collar as given by the vet. I also like that it is padded at both ends as the back of my legs were being srcrached to pieces by the one the vet gave. I think this product is good value. However, I did have to buy the size bigger than expected and put it on the smallest collar clip in order to get the length required to prevent my dog being able to lick his wounds (he had been castrated). The clips also took a bit of practice but I seem to have developed a knack with a bit of practice. Overall I prefer it to the one given by the vet, but as with any product I suspect it will depend on the size of your dog, his temperament to allow you to put collars etc on and the medical issue you need it for.
