Toy Dog breeds

The smallest group of dog breeds, toy dogs were largely bred as companion animals. Appearance and behaviour varies from breed to breed, but they often have affectionate and quite possessive natures, and need lots of attention although relatively little exercise compared with larger breeds. However, there are exceptions to this: Papillons, for example, are very energetic and will be more than happy to accompany their owners on long walks. Due to their small size and daintiness, toy dogs may not be suitable for families with small children.
