Will my pet stay with you all day?
No, your pets come in at an agreed time, and only spend the necessary time with us to ensure the groom is completed as agreed at your free consultation.
How do I know your salons are safe?
All of our salons are independently audited with the Groomers Gold Standard for safety, training, equipment, products and welfare, giving you the confidence your pet is always in the safest of hands.
Can you clip my pet short all over?
Our highly trained groomers offer a wide variety of breed trims and lengths chosen by the owners, as long as the dog's coat condition allows us to complete the required style. This is always discussed beforehand during your consultation.
Can you untangle matted hair on my pet?
No, we do not untangle matted hair on pets as it can cause them discomfort and pain. Your pet's happiness and welfare is of utmost importance to us. We can take you through the most comfortable options for your pet during your consultation.
What does a full groom include?
Our full groom includes your pet being washed twice in the appropriate shampoo for their skin and coat type, drying, grooming and clipping to the agreed requirements, nails clipped, ears cleaned and plucked if needed and your pet is happy for us to do so - no matter what their size.

Is it easy to park to drop my pet off at the Groom Room?
The Groom Room at Pets at Home has plenty of free parking outside each store, allowing you to drop your pet off without the worry of finding a space first. Our stores are open seven days a week, and we often have walk in appointments available.
It’s a hot day and I'm worried my pet will overheat in the salon.
All our salons have air conditioning to make sure the pet is comfortable at all times. We also have heating if it's needed in the winter.
Are your groomers qualified?
Our training programme is excellent and embeds the practical skills, knowledge and understanding of the City & Guilds Level 3 Professional Diploma for Dog Grooming Stylists. All of our grooming colleagues also have continuous development to ensure they are kept up to date with the latest training and procedures involving pet welfare and grooming.
Are your groomers regularly trained?
We are proud to have an extensive training programme given to our colleagues to make sure your pets are in the best hands. There are three levels each assistant stylist must complete before they can complete a full style on their own, and this process takes nine months. Each level means they have to gain adequate evidence and complete a theory book including modules on handling, as well as undergoing practical assessments and a test before they can even bath and dry your pet on their own.
My pet doesn’t like being groomed. Is it worth bringing him in?
Our main priorities are your pet's health and happiness. We introduce each procedure slowly with the use of thunder shirts, Adaptil plug-ins & happy hoodies to help keep your pet calm at no extra charge, and make the groom as stress-free and fun for them as possible. Feel free to bring your pet in for a visit before booking them into any treatments.
At what age should I get my puppy groomed?
The sooner the better, as long as they've had their injections. We offer a puppy package to puppies under 6 months to help socialise them into the grooming process so that they are comfortable and happy being groomed as adults.
During the session we slowly introduce the pup to the noises and sensations of grooming at comfortable pace. We also trim the hair by their eyes to stop the hair growing into them and around the bottom area to keep it clean as well as looking at their feet and nails. We can also advise you of a grooming routine and the correct equipment to use at home - perfect for keeping your pet happy & healthy between grooms.
In order to help maintain a safe and comfortable experience for your pet, we do require that all pets that visit us are up to date with their vaccinations. If your pet is not up to date, we will advise you to visit your local vet before making an appointment.
