This cage is excellent for gerbils it has lots of space for them to play and move around it's really easy to clean. You add to it lots of things to it. It is great and i recommend it to everyone who has or is getting a gerbil.

This gerbilarium is easy to set up and quite spacious, however I would not call it "extra large" and I don't think it's large enough for the price. The water bottle is not very good, it is hard to keep straight & constantly leeks, it was empty within a couple of hours. My gerbils were previously in a tank, so they are not used to walking on the metal bars and sometimes their little feet fall through the bars, so I have to keep an eye on them to make sure they don't get hurt, at least until they get used to it.

There is only one con I can think of about this cage. That is, the bars on the platform are very wide and I worry about my gerbils' delicate feet. But It doesn't bother me too much since I cover the platforms with cardboard.
Other than that, this cage is PERFECT for 2 or 3 gerbils! I wouldn't squeeze 4 in here because it would start to get cramped. I have 3 boys and they love it. It is worth the extra money and you won't regret it! It has a very big door at the front so you can access everything easily. But what I love is, there is also a good gap between the platform and the door so you can reach into the tank section but it still leaves plenty of room for the platform.
It was bigger than I thought it would be but it is surprisingly compact. We have ours on a shelf on the landing and it never gets in the way.
In conclusion, this is the best gerbil home you can buy but if Pets At Home were going to improve it, please put in solid platforms.

This is great, so much room for my 3 gerbils to run round in. I dont think It could take any more then 3, 4 max I would say.

The upper level is really good for using as the a area for their dust bath and play toys. The water bottle was a wee bit heavy, kept on falling to one side but a twick there and here and job sorted.
Though the cadge is big only problem I find is when they dig saw dust everywhere!! But a digging gerbil is a happy gerbil so I let them off.

Buy this for your gerbil's worth its weight in gold.

We've got 2 gerbils, and they love this cage. We've filled the whole bottom with bedding and they dig huge caverns over and over. The orange shelf thing does make it hard to catch them for handling, but it's possible to lift off the whole metal section to expose the base, and the base is still big enough to keep the animals contained. It's easy to clean, safe for the gerbils to play in, and the bars are far enough apart for us to fit accessories or toys into the gaps.
