Just brought this product home today. Looks great, easy to set up, lovely quiet motor. Seems like good value for money. Can't comment on other people's problems with it but as it's made by a reputable firm then I'm hoping in the event of any trouble it'll be easily sorted.

Looks really nice, problem is that the filter starts off fine (looks like a little waterfall) but give it a few weeks and the motor packs in and barely does anything! I took the filter back to get a new one and the exact same thing has happened!!!

Bought this tank about 18 Months ago - Light flick switch broke within 6 months so the light was then on permanently, now the light box has stopped working completly so my one lonlely fish (all the others jumped out or were eaten by my lone Neon Tetra - now nearly the size of a small shark) swims in the dark - priced a new lighting unit at only slightly cheaper than buying a whole new tank, picking up on my previous point the tank should come with a lid to stop the fish jumping out, had to purchase this seperatly.

We passed on your comments to Hagen who have provided the following response:

"The light/filter unit has a two year warranty. If it has failed after 18months then the customer is entitled to have the light/filter replaced Free of Charge in store.

As for the lid this is an optional extra. As many people do not want a lid because they think it spoils the aesthetics, as those that do want one because they are scared the fish will jump out."

Please return the light/filter to your local store who will be able to replace this for you under the warranty.

This product looks good and we loved it at first but then the filter has broken twice and we have had to return it both times and then the light started to fliker and now has broken completely and we cannot return it this time as it is just out of its 1 year warrenty. Also my goldfish like to jump out of the tank so I would reccommend a tank with a lid on.

Great looking product. Not typical looking bog standard tank. Was slightly worried when got home it'd sound like a dripping toilet but with the choice of an included tray it can be made silent if desired.
