The Giant Play and Scratch by Pets at Home is an oversized scratching post with a large surface area of sisal for your cat to scratch and enjoy.

Good post - small base

A nice chunky scratching post, which is not too tall. I use this as a secondary post upstairs, however the base is almost non existant making it quite top heavy, especially when my cat is having a good scratch. I intend to fashion a larger base to attach to this post to stop it toppling as it is quite heavy if it falls on top of the cat.

Apart from that, it should last a while.

My cat really gets stuck into this giant post - other posts are just too small for him (he's just over 6 Kilos). I will buy again when I need a new one (soon by the looks of how much he attacks it).

Surprisingly our two Maine Coons love it and have yet to knock it over after several months of use. It has not fallen apart unlike the feather scratch post. It is not a health hazard, unlike the scratch mat. It is a distraction from a winged back chair one of the cats had started climbing. Placed near the chair the two Maine Coons, one an adult male, have fun playing king of the hill with it. It is just large enough for one of them to sit comfortably on it but unable to lie on it without falling off, but then they are Maine Coons. They don't fir in the holes of most cat furniture. It is a neutral attractive design.

my three cats, Pixie, Bonnie and Boots love this. Its big enough, its fits right in their play area and its so much better than their old one - which just got ripped and worn away. I love it!

I have had this 8 months. The cat loves this scratching poast as no matter how much he hands off it it doesnt fall over and squash him (it has a good strong base) and i love it as it looks smart and doesnt shed bits of roap. Several of my friends have seen mine and brought one too. Definatly the best scratch post on the market. the only folt with it is the top is not quite big enough for the cat to sit on and he sometimes falles off if he has too much catnip!

Our old post, bought from Pets At Home years ago, called BIG FOOT, had worn out. So we bought this one as it looked similar but without the Big Foot!
Every time our cat "embraces" the post to scratch it - his way of doing the scratching I might add! - this huge post falls over on top of him and he then runs off and attacks the sofa! Completely useless for the active cat! BRING BACK BIG FOOT! It's not rocket science to add a stable base in production for this scratching post.

We were desperate to save our sofas from little kitty claws! We spritzed a small amount of catnip around the top to get them interested and strategically placed it next to their "favourite" sofa. It is large enough to pick them off the furniture they are clawing and move them to the post (they cling on as you put them near it). We have had no problem with stability, but I can imagine a very enthusiastic, large cat might manage to topple it. Ours like leaping on and off the top and it hasn't gone over once in over a month of use. It is so durable that our small (and not so small!) human visitors use it as a seat! We would def buy it again.

I've got two fairly large cats and thought this would be brilliant for them as their old scratching post is looking really tatty. One of them started scratching at this as soon as we put it down and it toppled over immediately. Our old scratching post has a large base which the cat stands on while scratching so it will never topple over. This one, however, has hardly any base at all so every time my cats used it, it fell on top of them! If it just had a base, it would be fine but for some reason, the designers decided not to add one. It's going back to the shop tomorrow. Really disappointed in this product.

my cat loves his scratching posts and he uses them frequently, we found that the narrower posts her would claw his way through within a matter of weeks, we moved to the jumbo sized ones and found they last a lot longer and with the wider sizes it gives more "attack" surface. This post has only a small lip on the base so any debris and loose claws will fall to the floor although I have found this better than having a larger base which makes the large post even larger. Highly recommend this product to anyone that has the room for it.

i put this in the corner of the room and my cats went to use it right away,plus they like to sit on top of it too, their old one was a bit small and tatty so they're happy with this new one.
