Guinea Pigs are one of the world's most popular pets. They are inexpensive, undemanding, hardy and sociable creatures.

They make ideal children's pets, although are sometimes nervous but rarely bite or scratch; inquisitive and friendly, Guinea Pigs like to be handled and are very talkative!

Guinea Pigs should be fed a specific guinea pig food in either an extruded nugget or muesli mix with plenty of hay for roughage. Your guinea pig also requires additional Vitamin C in its diet, as like humans they cannot naturally produce their own Vitamin C; supplements should be provided such through either their feed or water.

Guinea Pigs on average live for 4-8 years.

I have had my piggies for nearly 8 weeks now i got them for a birthday present from my parents and i absolutely love them! i have 2 boys Gavin and Troy they are both sweeties Gavin is so nosy and loves to be out of the cage on "Floor Time" and Troy is more quieter when i got them the Pets @ Home staff who helped me fell into the pen which was pretty funny they don't cost much overall they are perfect pets for anyone!

i work in an animal park and over xmas i ended up taking a sick guinea pig home to nurse back to health, but sadly when ever we tried to introduce her back into our big female group she was bullied so she now lives with me. Now she is called Lexi and is a fat health g.pig who loves food and getting cuddles from me and my family. when ever she hears rusling she runs around expecting food and she chatters/squeaks when we talk to her or play music. i am hopeing to buy her a friend from pets at home as thinks she needs a friend to keep her company :D

I recently purchased my two guineapigs buzz and woody and they were straight away loving and calm in there new home.they are still a bit woonky on letting me get near there cage,well woody is very shy,but buzz loves it when i come near because he always thinks i have food

I have 2 guinea pigs from pets at home they are 1 years old and i have a cat in way the way they talk to you and stuff it is a bit like a cat purring and stuff very recommend they only cost me £10 a month. !

I have two cute guinea pigs from pets at home called oreo whos black and white and is very cheeky. As well as Milky who is so fluffy, soft and loves a good cuddle. I have perchaced the tulip cottage hutch and run by pets at home which offers them a gigantic amount of space and a waterproof homely but airy at the same time house. I've also brought many safe and wooden toys from woodlands criteria and my two guinea pigs love them. More over they have 5 veggies a day and a big amount of hay with a resnable size of food and water. They are also put in a run for 2 hours a day outside and when the weathers cold i leave the window open for them to get air. They love their life at our home and are getting on rally well with no illnesses or desises. They have not bitten me ever and never scratch. Having a pet like this has made my whole life and more and i can't wait until christmeas when i can get more toys and treats for them. So this comes to show that if you love youre guinea pig and give them every thing they need then you will have a pet for life.
