I thought this was a great idea, but my cat isn't interested in using it to scratch - still prefers furniture, walls and carpets. All is not lost though, he quite likes to stalk it.

There is quite a variety of carpets on these scratchers. If I was buying another one I would make sure I got one that had the looped carpet covering rather than the cut-pile.

I don't hang this on a door handle as I have never managed to entice any cat to use it that way. I hang the handle over the thermostat for a radiator and then lay it on the floor. Instant success!
