Our Lurcher was bought this toy by our daughter for Christmas 2011 and it is still on the go only because I have had to keep sewing it up. The honk didn't last long and the stitching soon came away. It is now so wrecked and there is very little material that I can sew together so for his birthday in April we will be buying him another. He loves this toy and it is definitely his favourite hence the buying of another.

Our dog loves his pheasant, when weput his toys away in his toy box he comes over and pulls them all out till he finds his pheasant. He uses it as a pillow when lying down. Always the toy he greets you with. Sometimes he even falls asleep with him in his mouth the price paid well worth the entertainment in seeing him so happy.

My border terrier absolutely loved and would of played with it hours on end but unfortunately it doesn't last long (20mins) as dog thought it was real . But it was his favourite toy for 20 minutes!!!! would recommend to active dogs that are not prone to destroy !!!

My dog actually picked this up in the shop himself, so I was shamed into buying it!

He's not a destroyer thankfully, so it's still intact, unlike some reviewers ones.

The honk noise is much more tolerable than a high pitched squeak too :-)

My 2 and a half year old Bedlington Terrier loved it... For about half an hour. After that, the poor pheasant was horrifically ripped apart and all his stuffing was strewn across the floor :(.

Perhaps a more gentle dog would be suited to this toy, otherwise it's a waste of money for people like me. Not even a chance of stitching it back together as my dog managed to completely obliterate it!

My friend had a larger version for her retriever who absolutely LOVED his one, and I just loved it's honk! So I bought the small one for my chihuahua, and she loves it so much. She will lay honking it for ages, and it's definitely her favourite toy - just for the honk!. She wrecks toys pretty quickly, but apart from pulling away some of the fur, pheasant is completely intact. Even my cocker spaniel (who doesn't really play with toys other than chewing on a nylabone) had a quick play, but soon went to rip it apart, so I wouldn't recommend this for bigger dogs prone to destroying toys.

I bought my small - middle size dog one of these. In the car on the way home, without the dog even seeing it, a foot came off, leaving long fibres attached to the foot and a hole in the body where stuffing could come out. I returned it and it was replaced. On this one, within hours of giving it to my dog the seam up its neck split open again allowing stuffing to spill out. I returned it again and it was replaced again. This one has had most of it's seams open in a matter of hours. I have repaired tham and the dog still likes playing with the toy, but really - by the third time it fell apart in a matter of hours, it was costing me more in deisel to keep returning them than I had paid to buy the thing in the first place. The repairs to seams have been done by hand, using normal sewing thread and needle and I don't consider that I know how to sew. As it is initially purchased I wouldn't even give this to a new born child due to the risks of bits coming unstitched and the additional risk of choking on the stuffing coming out and the fallen off bits. This toy is supposedly designed for dogs, but it is certainlky not robust for any I know!
