Layers Pellets for Chickens 5kg by Dodson and Horrell is a complete chicken food combining a blend of ingredients to provide your chickens' with the nourishment they need to help keep them happy and healthy.

Layers Pellets for Chickens 5kg by Dodson and Horrell contains optimum levels of essential fatty and amino acids for good egg size, with calcium and phosphorus to help promote good shell strength.

Also contains natural pigments Lutein and Zeaxathin (from marigold and maize extracts) and Citranaxanthin (as naturally found in citrus fruits), for a deep yolk colour.

Vegetarian Society Approved.

I find this product excellent value for money. If you have the option for larger storage there are cheaper options available but this suits my needs almost perfectly. I only wish I could find an ORGANIC NON GM product at a similar price mark. I keep a Warren, a white leghorn hybrid, a legbar and a silkie.

A mug full for each chicken every day is quick and simple to use.

Every morning our 2 chickens, Keith and Logon (I know), come to the rear patio doors and tap on the glass until we feed them. We throw the food on the soil and they walk around all day picking it up as needed. Awesome.

I realise this chicken feed isn't intended to be used as cat litter however it is perfect for the job. My cat has a bad habit of eating her cat litter when it has been freshly changed and because it is chicken feed I know it won't cause her any harm. The feed keeps odour to a minimum and clumps well meaning the soiled cat litter is easily removed. It is much cheaper than good quality cat litter but just as good and the bag lasts for months. I was told about this from the breeder I got my cat from and she swears by it too.....best tip I've ever got!

After discovering that the chicken food we had been using contained GM ingredients we switched to this one. It is excellent value for money and fits our requirements of being GM free.

i rescue ex battery hens and this food is just excellent it helps them moult quickly and brings them back into lay nice and slowly giving them plenty of time to get used to life as a free range normal chicken doing what normal chickens do!!!

worth paying a few pence more a kilo for what the royal family uses.i get loveley deep yolks off this and could actually see a change in shell colour when switched to this product.happily being chomped by rhode island reds,wyndottes and a couple of welsummer x.

i have fed my 4 chucks daily with layers pellets,and with mixed corn in the evenings.they are healthy and have layed 3 to 4 eggs every day.all year round.
