This product is great for the casual fish keeper looking to expand their fish world. Please do not listen to reviews saying about how the filter is "too noisy" or that there is an "escape hatch" for the fish. Every filter once first set up is going to be a tad noisy. Once the friendly bacteria has built up it is like a constant soft humming, quiet for a filter in my opinion. The issue some people have flagged up is a "gaping hole" at the back of the lid. This is true. But anyone with half a brain would realise that this is the space for the external heater that is provided with the product! Please don't hesitate to buy this product. It is brilliant value with money!

This tank is brilliant. Ive had many fish ove the years and have always had difficulty fimding a good value sturdy tank that will house the fish i prefer to keep. Alot of people have said that the filter is loud and a bit like a drill! This is true for the first few weeks but after enough algie has builded up inside th filter is silent! At the right settings and with the right water conditions and water level. It oxygenates the water brilliently as long as u have it siting perfectly. It is suitable for almost any breed of fish and is straight forward to clean. Im very happy with this tank and once i have upgraded my other tank it would also make a brillaint spare as it i a perfect size for breeding and keeping other fish that are more aggressive and better kept alone.

Looks ok but be aware this only 13 gallons so will hold 10 -13 inches worth of fish comfortably. Just about manages a few corys and a dwarf gourami. Just. By far the worst feature is the silly filter. This vibrates like a drill!!! Its ridiculously noisy and the output doesnt generate much surface agitation so the oxygen levels are poor. If you have the tank close by , like I do it will drive you insane. Im swapping mine for a Fluval U2. Not such a good deal when you pay [$] for the set up and have to then replace the filter and add a powerhead for oxygen. Couldnt be bothered to rip it down and take it back, but this will end up being an emergency tank. Its too limited.

It is really good but the heater has no markings on it so you guess but was you get it right it is fab when I had the tank the filter was broken but then I took it back they replaced it for me so it is no problem it was on my tank but that is it.

i got this tank as a birthday present and it was ta upgrade from a 29l tank to this one and it is was some easy to set up i had it running in a few hours and it is a great tank i can easy see all my fish in they with the light on and the fillter is so easy to clean and look after it. the only down side of it the top is a bit different to get on right .

I got this as an upgrade on my previous 35L starter tank and so far I'm loving it. It was easy to assemble and comes with everything you need, heater, bulb, and the chemicals to get your tanks ready. Lid has a hatch for easy feeding which makes feeding time much easier. My fish love their new tank and it looks great.

Overall this is a very good product. I found it easy to assemble and the heater and filter supplied with it were good quality. For keeping fish it is functional, the hatch on the lid giving good accessibilty for feeding, cleaning etc. Personally there have been no problems with leaks or glaring (or for that manner escaping turtles - but it is a good point for keeping amphibians it may not be ideal).The only negative point I could find was the lid being an extremely tight fit and therefore a real pain to get on. It went on eventually went on and stayed but heed my warning; once it is on do not remove it - IT IS A PAIN [*] TO PUT BACK ON!Overall however an afforable and good next step to keeping tropical fish

I bought this tank to house my aqutic turtles (currently house in the older style 35 silver model) so i thought of using the same brand of tank as the 1 was quite reliable but as i was setting up i noticed a massise hole in the back which the book says can OPTIONALLY be removed. There is no option though as this part is not inxluded with the tank. So if you do plan on buying this tank make sure ur paet cant escape (i will be returning mine)
