A nice gizmo that works really well. It looks like an implement of torture but don't be put off, I had no moans or groans from my 8 month old std poodle. We're grooming her at home and found this tool really easy to use. The blades can be swapped for new ones or switched the other way round if you're a lefty.

Took my bearded collie on a caravan holiday and he went in the sea and came back home with loads of big mats. Thought I would need a professional groomer to get his coat back smooth again, but then invested in this and the undercoat rake. Thought it was quite pricey but It's the best money I've spent. Just work through the mats and it takes them out really easily. Had to leave a review as I was amazed how well it works. Personally for mats I wouldn't get the matt master for taking big mats out as this just got stuck on my beardie but will probably work well for a daily/weekly run over, well worth spending the extra to get this. Happy grooming in no time!

As a owner and breeder of Cockerpoo's this is invaluable for keeping their coats matt free.
It is quick and safe to use and if your dog gets used to being groomed right from when it's a puppy then it wont even realise what you are doing, but even on dogs who aren't used to being groomed the little and often approach works really well.
I now have 2 one left and one right handed as you can change the blade direction.

This comb is great, the only way to remove knots and matts without leaving your cat looking like he had a fight with a lawn mover !

Removing big matts is a bit tedious but the results are worth it. Had mine for years, blades still haven't needed replaced.

Test use it on your hand first to make sure you touch your cat with it at the right angle, the wrong angle could cause injury.

Using it on unknotted fur is great as it removes dead or weak fur meaning it won't knot with the healthy fur.

Your cat will not tolerate this product for long, use it little but often.

Getting out big matts its best to hold the matt with your fingers near skin and poke the blades through the matt and pull away, holding it near the skin will help prevent too much pulling of your cats skin, keep poking it through at different places and the matt will come out, leaving your cat looking like it was never there to begin with.

This is the best alternative to cutting out matts.
