I bought these as where I usually get my shaving from where out and I needed some for cleaning out my Rabbit. I would not rerecommend these as they are very sharp and have large chunks of uncut wood left in them. It also really hurts your hands getting them out as they are quite tightly compacted.

Ok woodshavings, no dust so good for my 10 week old mini lop but as i brushed my hand across to level out sawdust i found 3/4 massive chunks of sharp wood in there! not very impressed as could have injured my bunny. Will be purchasing loose woodshavings elsewhere next time.

These woodshavings smell pleasant, which is always nice for us two leggeds, and are very light and soft. It also produced very little dust when being put into the cage and when my gerbils were digging around in it. Which is where a downside comes in ... it does scatter easily when they're digging. Not that this can be helped, and a little mess to deal with is no bad thing if the gerbils are happy and stimulated. It won't hold tunnels, however...

I would have had enough woodshavings from this bag to do two or three cage changes which, given gerbils don't need changing over too frequently, means it would have lasted a long time.

It also did not agitate my thumbs, where I have a great deal of broken skin. I don't know what would happen if I had full eczema, but it certainly caused me no issue.

For a big bag, however... would be nice if it resealed.

I would strongly not suggest this for anything smaller than a guinea pig as it is quite big and sharp. Although it absorbed it worsened the smell of urine (somehow),I feel rather indifferent about it/

i use this as it cheap and easy to clear up
as i have a house rabbit its important to limit dust since you introduced your own product brand the dust is more extreme
i now use a siff to extract more dust
