my older dog who is 13 years was finding her waterproof kennelmate, hard to lie on due to loss of muscle tone because of age. Cant get her off this mattress, has arguments with her 10 year old pall who gets jealous although he has another bed. May have to think about getting another one for him now!!!
Have found the cover hard to facum, sticks to hand tool have to pick pieces of dead leafs ect off, could do with being anti static?.

Well my Malamute, Thor, Is around 16 weeks old his dad was a Giant Malamute (Extension type to this breed) and he barely fits on it anymore and he's got the XL of this bed and Thor doesn't sleep on it because its not memory foam at all its got little balls of fabric inside it not memory foam. But I advice it for people with slightly older pets that will like to lounge around, it is fairly difficult to wash but other than that its ok.

I bought this a year ago for our fairly heavy [48kg] Rhodesian Ridgeback because I wanted him to have good support especially given how much time he spends in his bed [practically all day apart from when out for walks!]. To begin with I thought it was a brilliant buy: good price, not 'proper' memory foam but filling seemed quite supportive especially for the price - NB I've bought a piece of memory foam for him in the past and it's very expensive [about £80]. However I've been really disappointed to find that the filling - in common with some other reviewers - has easily come out of the very thin material which the manufacturer has used to encase the bits of foam. My dog likes to 'nest' a bit ie scrape at his bed though not to a great degree and even this small amount of pawing has caused the filling cover to tear. Consequently, when I remove the cover for washing [great idea] my floor is covered in bits of foam plus other bits stick to the inside of the cover. This makes the whole business of cleaning the bed a real chore. I must admit, having been through numerous types of dogbed over the last 20 years, I am amazed that no one has come up with a really robust, easily cleanable dogbed design!

It was described as memory foam. NOT LOTS of BITS!. My own bed is a solid piece of memory foam, it's not made up of bits!
The cover of the BITS, is like a J cloth. It needs to be strong cotton. The cover has mashed together and split exposing all the BITS, which has made an EMPTY hole in the middle of the bed. I have spent half the day sewing it back together and patching it up with material.
My dog loves this bed despite all the problems, Reading the other comments, you need to make it ONE LARGE PIECE n strong inner cover then it would be perfect! PLEASE TAKE NOTICE!!!!

Waste of Money

This is not memory foam! There is some chemical in the foam balls that makes them want to urinate on it - even incontinent pets won't foul their own bedding. I bought this as a 2nd bed for my cockapoo who loves any comfortable bed. He reluctantly tried it, got up, sniffed and ignored it. The cat thought he was stealing it from the dog. In the mornng I discovered that my ultra clean cat had urinated on it. Complete waste of money. Cover washed badly but I will put an old duvet in there to see what happens.

I bought this for my 5 year old Cocker Spaniel after she had major spinal surgery. When we first bought her home she just couldnt get comfortable on her old bed (another matress type but not memory foam) and would cry through the night, so after some research on the internet I popped out and bought this. Within seconds of getting home and putting it on the floor she was flat out on it and didn't move for hours! I can visibly see the support she is getting from the bed and how comfortable she is. She only weighs 12kg though, I couldn't comment on how supportive it would be for a much heavier dog. \it retains the heat too. I bought the medium size which is just right when she is fully stretched out. Although it is cream, I have had it for 3 weeks and it still looks new (but I do hoover it regularly and always wipe my dogs paws before she comes in the house). However, the cover is removable and washable should it get dirty. A few people have commented on its durability, fortunately I do not have a chewer or a destructive dog so everything is still in tact. I would probably suggest any soft material bed is not suitable for teething puppies or chewers anyway! I have no problems recommending this bed and would happily purchase again.

Couldn't wait

Your family staffs is now 16yrs old and suffers from arthritis in her back legs. On purchasing this bed, she didn't move for 5hrs!!!! Just happy lying watching tv on it. It has made a big difference to her life. Well worth the money.

Bought this product when it was on offer for our 6 month old German Shepherd and he loves it. Was on it from the minute we put it on the floor! He's a chewer but with supervision and training to start with he now knows its to sleep on and not something to chew.
Will eventual go in his crate once he out grows his current and we will be purchasing another!

Not chew proof

This mattress is hopeless. The memory foam isn't memory foam - it's tiny little pieces of polyurethane and other materials stuffed into a three-sectioned mattress. We noticed that the cover didn't wash well and after only a couple of months was wearing thin. I then come thru one morning to find he had managed to break the zip section and chew thru the mattress cover itself. The little pieces of foam were everywhere! He was absolutely hyper for the rest of the day and I actually began to wonder if chewing on the polyurethane foam was perhaps toxic to him. I kept an eye on him all day, and he didn't stop running around. He did however go to sleep at night so I left off calling the vets til next morning. Next morning he had severe diarrhea and I do put it down to chewing the inners of this mattress. I would have imagined that if the cover wasn't chew proof then at least the inner should be filled with safe materials. I definitely would NOT recommend this to anyone. Next I'll be looking for a dog-proof dog bed - shouldn't they all be dog-proof?!!
