Automatically feeding every 12 hours, the battery powered Nutramatic Automatic Fish Feeder 2X has an easily accessible food drum, which can be adjusted to dispense a variety of different fish food (flakes and pellets) and quantities, making it suitable for goldfish, tropical or marine aquariums.

The Nutramatic Automatic Fish Feeder 2X by Nutrafin can be installed in three different positions: free standing, rim mountable and fits into certain canopies (dependent upon the aquarium).

Fish keeping is my new hobby & I'm learning abt fish & all the necc things that go with it. I first saw this product on the website & before deciding on owning one, I read the reviews & went to my nearest store, studied the product further & purchased it to try. I'm happy with it bcos it does what it says but I must say that it's perhaps a better product for small tank & not for large aquarium. I've the nano cube 13litres tank & only small danio fish so it really works for my tank & of cos my happy fish! It definitely can be relied on for when u go on holidays but being a careful fish owner, I'd still drop in them holiday food & in my case, only a small amount of holiday food plus the twice feeding from the product. It's best to 'crush' the flake & mix with other foods like micro pellets for easy discharge.

Broke after 2-3 uses

Cons:

Breaks easily, Had to remove tank lid, Hard on batteries, Hard to install batteries, Low food volume, Not Sturdy

I bought this feeder for my 20 gallon water home aquarium that houses neon tetras and guppies. I had to remove the lid of the aquarium entirely for this to work on my aqurium as my lid, housing, and ballist for my light are all connected in 1 piece. So make sure if you have jumpers you keep the water level lower or choose a different feeder. The feeder did not fit into the feeder slot that is in my aquarium lid. I used this feeder 2-3 times for 7-10 days at a time and it is now broken. I always stored the feeder in the original box with batteries removed after each use and all food was removed from the disc food holder. I have been very gentle with it, have never dropped it or got it wet but the motor no longer spins the feeding disk very well and therefore I will have to buy a new feeder before christmas holiday. I don't recommend this to anyone. If anything the 1 week feeders that come in calcium carbonate are even better than this! I bought this hoping to save money in the long run so I didn't have to buy those overpriced weekend feeders ect. However, it has cost me even more money than its worth.

Pros:
-Quiet
-Easy to fill
-No moisture got into my flake food so it doesnt clump flake food
-Easy to install on aquarium
-Cheaper than many feeders available

Cons:
-Batteries can be difficult to get in and out. They have to be lined up just exact or the motor won't run so make sure it spins when you put the batteries in or it is not going to run.
-Doesn't hold much food. I only have a 20 gallon aquarium so it has sufficient food for my tetras and guppies for about 2 weeks but for bigger tank and fish it might not be enough for long periods
-Can't program feed times or adjust number of feeds. It feeds twice a day every 12 hrs no room for adjustment. I had to adjust my feeder to feed less every feeding bc I normally only feed once per day so it can be difficult to judge how much they are going to need
-Flimsy stand; can be easy to over tighten bc it always feels loose on the tank and will break it you try to tighten it more. It won't tighten any further the stand is ALWAYS a bit loose
- Broke after using 2-3 times for no longer than 7 days at a time. I was very careful with this unit and stored it with batteries removed in the original box and emptied out the food after each use. The motor can hardly turn anymore even with brand new batteries and it is down to it takes 4 rotations in order to dump the food so your looking at 1 feeding every 2 days! I didnt realize this till I got home and left it going for a few days and noticed my fish were starving luckily I wasnt gone for more than 3 days or they would have starved and died!

NOT WORTH THE MONEY BUY A MORE EXPENSIVE UNIT. I have to buy another unit and ending up spending more money than if I had bought a pricier one to start with.

Sometimes drops out barely enough food and other times dispenses enough to kill the lot. If all food flakes where identical in size it would probably work fine. Cant depend on this to go on hols now.

This fish feeder looks the part but does not drop the same amount of food out each time.
When it does drop food I would need 3 of them one per fish to stop them from eating each other
