Not the outside kabin I'd hoped for.

When it put this outside, my cat didn't want to go it it for, well, nearly six months it was out in the garden. Other cats were using it, so I had to bring it in. My cat only used it when I relplaced her usual bed with it, then she used it. She loved being hidden away right at the back, being all black like the inside, I could only see her eyes.
But when I lifted it out to clean the insde a few weeks ago, all the green plastic around the black edging had split. Making it now unsuitable for her to use. I was hoping to get years of use out of this. I haven't the receipt, but I don't think its lasted more than a year/year and a half.

I bought one of these (with the winter warmer) for my kitten over a year ago, as I don't have a cat flap so need to leave my cat shut outside when I go to work. I wanted the peace of mind of knowing she had somewhere safe, dry and warm to shelter.

It has taken a lot of time but finally she is using it on a regular basis. Now that the weather is turning a bit warmer I often find her asleep in there, even when I'm home and could let her into the flat. It helps that I've put her favourite woollen sweater (her bed) in it. Just one word of caution: Check it regularly for dampness. Over the winter I found that the liner was sodden and mouldy, so brought the whole thing inside to give it a thorough clean. This hasn't happened since, so I think that during really bad weather the rain drove in through the door.

I've marked it down one star because I think it is overpriced for what it is, but I don't regret spending the money!

i have 2 cats that live outdoors i brought the katkabin back in 2010 ready for the winter. at the time they both used it but i had to take the flap off so they could both get in. i also put extra bedding in. its still bein used so i def got my moneys worth.

Bought a katkabin yesterday; put it outside - it rained all day - my cat is 15years now and he didn't go in it at all (think it reminded him of pet carrier I take him to the dreaded vets in!) - went outside in the evening and felt inside and it was wet at the back - i will be taking it back to Pets at Home asap... defo not worth [$]

I wrote a review for the Kat Kabin (20th July) and thought I would write a follow up review of how I'm finding the product three months after purchase. (see previous review)

I have had no luck in attaching the flap since my last review as my cat still does not like it. This hasn't been a problem however as when it has poured with rain (this is England after all!) she has been heading for her Kat Kabin, curling up inside and falling asleep.

As my cat is an outdoor cat and we have always had the Kat Kabin in the garden, I was concerned that not having the cat flap during the cold weather of the winter months would let a lot of cold in. I decided to purchase a cosy warm bed with high walls (oppose to a flat bed) for her which I managed to fit through the Kat Kabin door. The height of the walls rise just over half way passed the door keeping the cold weather out. (Not a good idea to place such a bed inside if your cat DOES use the flap as they won't be able to get in...)

Since placing the bed in her Kat Kabin I have been taking it out every day and airing it for her and even though it has rained the interior of the Kat Kabin and her bedding (even the wall of the bed which is near the entrance to the Kabin) has remained completely dry so I feel confident that she will be safe and warm during the winter months.

I will probably be writing another review in a few months regarding how I found the Kat Kabin after the possible snowy weather we may have.

I wanted this for outside. I had seen a few reviews online stating that as the joints are not sealed it lets water in. I thought I would give this a try after the good reviews on this site. As soon a I got home I gave it a light spray with water and sure enough the water ran through the joints. This would be fab if they only sealed the joints! For outside use this is no good at all- The bedding would get very damp.

Purchased ready for my cat's first winter outside. As soon as we got it home, it went inside it, which was a good start. Have now put it outside for him to go him when we're at work, however can't therefore tell if he's using it when we're out or not! Might consider putting more blankets in there for warmth as well, as the one that comes with isn't amazingly warm. Product is thinner than first expected, but hopefully still insulates well. Small, however tardis like, as when my cat's in there he seems to have plenty of room still.

This is great for my cats all four of them sqeeze into this when its raining lol. Its smaller than i thought which is ok, doesnt take up a lot of room. They don't understand the cat flap but very easy to take it off. A good buy even though its a tad expensive.
