I am a first time cat owner, I've looked at buying just a normal bowl, but then I looked on line and it says cats don't really drink much water, but they prefer it if its running and flowing, so I bought this and he loves it!!!!
and its a good price for something that lasts a very long time!!!!!!!!

Over the years I have had many water fountains, this has been the best so far. I have had this now for about 2/3 years and all has been good just having to buy the water filters every now and then. We clean the fountain every 2 weeks as this ensure it keeps working well and a top up every day. Our 3 cats love it, it really encourages them to drink plenty of water which is great!

Have had this for over a year, and am very happy with it. I have just bought some replacement filters for it. Unfortunately the pump stopped working last week and Pets at home don't appear to sell replacements, but I managed to find one online. The cats will only drink from this.

This product is brilliant, ive not had one problem with it and ive had it for almost a year and a half,
I got this when it was recommended to me by the vet as my indoor cat kept gettin bouts of cystitis, its really helped her a lot and iv never seen a cat drink so much and so often, then when I got my second cat they both shared it well,
Ive never had them knock it over or spill water, I was abit worried the pump was going to be loud but it doesnt make any noise, its also really easy to clean, as there is only two major bits (aside from the pump) there really easy to put in the dishwasher or some warm soapy water to soak,
I love my water fountain and it was defo a good investment! My cats love it and it saves them climbing on the units to get to the dripping kitchen tap.hehe
I dont have a bad word for this product. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy it :)

I have had this for about a year and my 3 cats love it - However, one of them loves running water more than the others, he gets quite excited watching running water - and this week, the little rascal discovered he could 'dig' the fountain away from the wall, pull the cable with his teeth and drag it across the room, and even turn it over!!! Luckily we were home when he tipped it right up to mop up the flood in our kitchen........ I have now ordered a Catit water fountain as it's enclosed so he can only see the little bit of running water at the top, whilst the rest of the water is kept inside....

Got this for my dog but i have 2 and the other one is a pet mate freshflow in comparison. To the pet mate the cat mate is hard to clean get dirty quickly my dog preffers the pet mate fresh. Flow but overall. The cat mate comes with two year garente. And i have had no problems with it great. Buy just a bit to pricey. For what it is

In principle this is a very good idea, but I feel that I must point out a couple of major design flaws with this product... Firstly, and most importantly, the unit is in 2 parts, with the pump located in the upper part. There are no physical means to secure the parts together, and our very curious cats take the unit apart at every given opportunity. We have tried wedging it under something, but there are no non-slip mounts on the bottom, so the cats simply slide it out from underneath whatever we've put it under. We have had the product 2 weeks, and have had to clean up water spills every single day, often more than once. The pump is also not allowed to run dry, but there is no safety cut out. Not good, especially as our cats have been able to dismantle the unit, exposing the pump on numerous occasions, which makes it screech. It's very frightening to wake up in the middle of the night to something in the house making a loud screeching noise I can assure you. We have wasted our money with this product, and we will be looking to find an alternative that has been designed a lot better. Not a single review has mentioned this though, and I find it hard to believe that our cats are the only ones in the world who are that inquisitive? Very poor product indeed :(

I first bought this when we had a kitten a couple of years ago and now our 2 cats share it. Sometimes they will drink from the bowl by their food but they both prefer this. When the water gets specks of dirt in it, our older cat dabs his paws in and tries to fish them out. If the water runs low, he tries to drag the fountain towards the kitchen to get refilled. Our other cat drops her toys in the water (she likes to play fetch - but we don't throw the wet toys for her!) I'm sure they both drink a lot more because of us having this, and as they mainly eat dried/moist food, it helps them stay healthy.

Bought the pet fountain as my three ladies refused to drink still water and kept tipping the water bowls over I even bought a large heavy dog bowl for them and still they managed to get the water everywhere.
The fountain does need cleaned out on average once a fortnight to remove cat hairs, but is really easy to clean and you can buy brushes to help with the cleaning, you can also buy any spare parts for the fountain.
