Ok, so I brought this today praying it might be useful for my dog. She is a 3 year old shih tzu, had no socialisation with other dogs when she was a puppy as she had meningitis and it made me frighted to take her out, so she's had no training. Her behaviour at home is ok, but with strangers, new dogs, neighbours, etc she is a nightmare. So I decided to buy the training clicker to see if I could teach her some basic comands... I have to be honest, she is stubborn, easily distracted and 'does her own thing' (totally my fault). So tonight I thought I'd read the instruction manual and start from there.

The manual is great, easy to understand, and DON'T skip the first target stick trick as it really teaches your dog what the clicker benefits are, and using this first trick is really simple for your dog and you to learn.

My dog picked it up straight away. I was so amazed. I've never used this tool before in dog training and it really is a must as your dog will quickly understand when they have done something right. Don't second guess this purchase!

I love clicker training. I use the clicker to help capture, lure and shape behaviours and have taught my dog in excess of 30 tricks and behaviours using a clicker.
I actually prefer a clicker of another brand which is easier to push, but wouldn't be without a clicker of some description.
