The Rabbit 140 Guinea Pig and Rabbit Cage by Ferplast is an ideal rabbit home to bring your bunnies indoors, whilst keeping the living space of a conventional hutch.

Coming complete with:

Removable base tray for easy cleaning;
1 x Access door for easy access to your pet;
2 x Plastic Hay Racks to keep food off the ground and help keep your cage clean and food fresh;
1 x Plastic Feeding Bowl;
2 x Plastic Water Bottles;
Plastic home to provide a retreat for your rabbit or guinea pig.

Rabbits and guinea pigs need lots of exercise in order to stay happy and healthy.

A rabbit or guinea pig should never permanently be kept in its cage and should be let out in a suitable run for exercise.

Indoor cages are only suitable as temporary homes.

Terrible Everything!

After waiting 2 weeks for this to be delivered I was greatly disapointed. After unpacking I attempted to construct the cage and found out that it was not made with the sides being different heights. After a long wait to get answered by customer services I was spoken to very rudley by a woman who eavesdropped onto other conversations in the room while talking to me, refused to give me a supervisor and then hung up on me. This has been the worse retail experience I have ever had and I will NEVER shop at the Pets at Home Website again. I am going to a different store to get a cage that is actually built properly.

Service & Delivery comments:

The delivery service is the worst I have ever seen. The courier does not give you a day or a time frame for when your product should be delivered. As a result we had to change our lifestlye so that there was a person in the house at all times for a week. After a week of no delivery we called customer services who said it would be redlivered the next day. It wasn't so we called again and they said it was being put on different vans and not being driven to our location. We finally got it delivered today. Pets at Home need to get a different courier that actually give you a time frame, deliver when they say they will and whose tracking system works as this one did not for me.

I bought this cage for my dwarf lop Buddy (he's only locked up in it at night). It's good size and I like the big front opening, sadly no roof opening which would be pretty useful. I put his litter tray, grass house and some toys in there and there's still plenty of room left. It's also tall enough for him to stand on his hind legs. I love the hay racks. Can't use the plastic houses included as they are too small, they would be perfect for guinea pigs though. All in all good value for money.

Service & Delivery comments:

I wasn't that happy about the delivery. Don't get me wrong, it was quite quick (3 working days) but you do not get told what day and time your order will arrive (other retailers will send you an email or a text to let you know in advance). It's ok for people who can stay at home all week and wait for it but I work. I think Pets at Home should include that information on their website. knowing it, I would have ordered somewhere else. Also, the driver did not ask me to sign for the parcel but when I checked parcel force website in the Track and Trace Electronic Proof of Delivery there is someone's signature there, it's definitely not mine. I suppose the driver signed it himself. Naughty. Maybe I should ring them and say I never got it, they've got no proof I did ;)

This product is too small for even dwarf rabbits. It would be suitable as a base as long as the rabbit is NEVER shut in there. Other possible ideas to make this a good home for a rabbit could include fixing a play pen to it creating more space for the rabbit to stretch out and hop.

The RWAF Rabbit welfare and trust fund states that the requirement for rabbits are a hutch/cage size of 6' x 2' x 2', which allows rabbits some room to move, stand on their hind legs and enough space for the food, toilet and sleeping areas to be kept apart.

This is good as a base as another customer suggested, however not as a shut in cage unless you attach a puppy pen

I am going to use this for my two dwarf bunnies over the winter and let them free range in my room. When it first arrived the box was huge and i just thought that it was little extras filling the box, no, the cage fills the box. I can actually get into the cage and i am quite tall. I'm sure the bunnies are going to love it. It was great value for money and extremly spacious, sadly though the two cute little houses that come with it i will not be able to use due to the small openings, perfect for a guinea pig but my bunnies have got big bums!

Although not as tall as the slightly larger rabbit 150 cage, the rabbit 140 cage is lighter and therefore easier to move around. Due to its design, it is easy to clip two or more of these cages together to give your rabbits more space when they need to be confined to a cage. As there is no roof opening (I assume because rabbits should not be approached from above) I do not know how you would build a second storey on to this cage. It could do with being a bit taller for when the bunnies want to binky. I use this cage attached to a rabbit 150 with a 120 cage on top. It gets a paws up from my two bunnies.

i purchased this order on saturday and received it today (wednesday). this is definitely worth 100 for the space it gives. unfortunately i can not comment if it is easy to clean as i have not had it long enough. the only downside is that some of the wires were a bit bent although the man who delivered it was not generous with how he did it! so it might not be 'pets at homes' fault. the other con was that it was quite hard to put together. but i definitely would recommend this product to a friend 100%

This cage is the perfect size for 1 to 3 guinea pigs, or 1 or 2 rabbits.
It's spacious and the piggies are much happier inside, with room to popcorn and run laps of the cage which is what they need to be able to do.

The house will not generally be used to be climbed on by guinea pigs as they prefer being on solid ground so the food bowl should be on the floor instead.

It's a nice looking cage that's easy to clean.

On the whole I am very pleased with this cage, and more importantly my 2 male guinea pigs love how much room they have to run around. I've seen them do a lot more 'popcorning' in this cage![...] It's important for an animal's happiness to have as much space as possible, especially when there is two of them! The only complaint I have about this cage is trying to get my piggies out of it. They seem to love it so much, they hide away in their houses and I have to take the whole cage off the base in order to be able to lift the houses up to get them.

this cage is perfect! It's huge, plenty of room for my two lion head rabbits to run around and play. I ended up taking the houses out as they didn't really use them and prefer to snuggle up together in the cage. It's perfect for having your pets indoors as there is so much space! The only downside is the water bottles that come with it that my rabbits got frustrated with so i ended up using a sippy bottle instead but most rabbits would be fine with it!
