Clips far too small

Bought to exercise two Dalmatians alongside each other. Actual length of couple is only just about acceptable (this is the largest Pets At Home do), but the main problem is the metal clips are far too small/don't open wide enough to accommodate the metal slip rings on either of my dogs' collars. Actual clips appear of a poorer design that those we have on similar own branded leads.

Returned to store for a refund. Larger/better made replacement obtained from an independent supplier.

[...] Initial reaction ~ far to short! In practice, not TOO bad for walking my 2 Bassets ~ one is off lead quite quickly, other is a new rescue. Dogs seem to sort their positions & tangles out easily & in use, really not too short at all. Biggest bugbear is the clips ~ they are rather small & don't seem very tough. Also, far fiddlier to clip on/off than the traditional clips. A fair buy for us as we needed one quickly, but looking into another soon.
