Sieving Hooded Cat Litter Tray by Ferplast is a practical solution to the common problems of standard cat litter trays, whilst providing your cat with a private and secluded area to go the bathroom.

Using hygiene technology, the double bottom tray with sieve helps to minimise the wastage of litter and can be emptied without using a scoop.

With built in carbon filter already pre-installed into the ventilation grills, will help to reduce unpleasant odours from escaping, keeping your home smelling clean.

This litter box, although a great idea, is probably the worst product I've ever bought for our cats.

Clumped litter gets stuck in the seive tray, once you have your 'clean' litter in the second tray you have to reach for the scoop anyway to remove the litter stuck to the seive. Okay, first problem over with.

So you then have to put the seive tray into the 3rd tray then pour the clean litter over this, okay all is well, until you realise that the tray you have just poured the litter out of has clumped litter stuck to the bottom of it, so you have to get the scoop out again.

Honestly I can't see the point, it makes a bearable job unbearable. If you have made the mistake of buying this litter tray and already used it, the best advice I can give you is to keep the seive tray in between the 2 normal trays and use it like a normal litter tray, just a very expensive 'normal' litter tray.

Oh and the clips that hold the hood to the 3 trays always pop open when you lift it by the top handle. Not good.

Purchased this item after trying many others in 2009, has outlasted any other hooded litter tray, I'm still using the same one. Less mess on kitchen floor. I don't find the sieve a problem, I use a stiff brush to push any pieces that have stuck, I use wood based litter. Then I put the whole lot through garden sieve to remove soiled litter thus saving money on litter. I have three cats and find that I only need to clean it out once a day except for removing any faeces as and when.. I use the shower head in the bath to wash used seive, tray and inside of hood.

We bought this litter tray for our cat when we first brought her home. Its been brilliant and really easy to use/set up. We've only used clumping litter in it (CatSan/[...]own) with no issues, unless we havent been vigilant in cleaning up after our cat. If it sits a few days, then it gets stuck to the sifter and can be difficult to remove when changing litter. If that happens, we just throw it in the tub and use the shower head to powerwash it off. Though, if youre have issues with it, you can always put the sifter between the two trays and still keep the lid on, tightlyWhats also nice, is the carbon filter up top and it doesnt make our home smell like we own a cat... I think, if you're using clay, the sifter may cause an issue with messing and sticking to it.. I've yet to use the sifter that comes with it, but I think its great idea - especially if you have mutilple cats and the litter needs constant upkeeping.The only thing our little one doesnt like about it is the door, as shes not familiar with it, but its easy to remove and leave off.

What a waste of money - I wanted to reduce the smel of cat litter but instead it is worse as the inside part is impossible to clean hygenically

I know this litter tray doesn't get good reviews, but I think this is because you need to use litter which is small enough to fall through the sieve. It also helps if you clean this fairly regularly so the waste doesn't build up.

I really like this tray as you can filter out the waste and keep the clean litter in the tray. I've had this tray for around 3 years and its still working well so is very durable.

I have three indoor cats and really wanted to contain the smell of an open litter tray so i purchased this to do so.
The door caught on the bottom so was extreemly diffucult for my cats to get in and out. The sieve is horrendous and the only time it works is when you are trying to clean the tray out and it goes all over the floor!
I really really do not recommend this product... i would definately go for a cheaper one!

The sieve is useless and wastes litter. Its also extremely unpleasant to clean if your cat has diarrhoea! You can just move it to the bottom and not use it though.

Its fine other than that and its quite useful to have the two bases because you can fill the 2nd one with litter whilst you're cleaning the 1st if your cats are like mine and always want to use it when its being cleaned!

I bought this to replace a similar style of litter tray that we had already used (and thought was brilliant). However I am extremely disappointed with this tray for the following reasons :
1. The cat flap doesn't fully close so odours still escape
2. It is fiddley to clean out
3. The sieve is a waste of time (I actually get through more cat litter not less because fresh litter drops into the bottom tray so more is needed to cover the base)
4. By paying a bit more I expected to get a better product but in reality the enclosed litter tray that we had before this one was much, much better and a fraction of the price.

I bought this product for our new addition, hes very private, so this is a good tray, however, the sieve is not what i expected,not sure that its usefull, will carry on , hopefully it will be usefull.

Its great for keeping the litter contained, however as one person has already mentioned the seive is useless! i dont use the seive part anymore, but i love the 2 trays as one cleaned out means one to use straight away.

its sturdy looking and doesnt look as filmsy as some of the others which is why we bought it, btu the seive is of no use whatsoever. am gettign another kitten shortly and we will be getting another of these.
