Don't Buy

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I went into the store and had already decided on this travel box and knew that the handle might be a little weak so I picked it up and basically used it as a basket for 5 minutes whilst getting a few other products. I had 2 light products in this box and the whole box fell apart and crashed to the ground leaving me holding the handle and lid. Rather than chancing it with rabbits inside I decided on getting a temporary cardboard carry box instead.

The product is however a good size and may be useful if carried by the bottom at all times otherwise I would worry far too much about it coming apart!

Bought this in-store with a broken clip so it was 20% off, this didn't really bother me as it was for my 2 ferrets for travelling on outings and vet trips and they're not that heavy so i could carry the box either way. Do bare in mind that if your animal is on the weighty side you might want to carry this from underneath as the clips could snap. It is very spacious and allows a lot of air in so that my little weasels had fresh air and i could even fit the travel water bottle through the slats so that they could drink. I popped a blanket inside and they were quite content in there whilst travelling. Reccommended for any Ferret, Rabbit, Guinea Pig , Degu and Chinchilla owners. (Even at home my cat loves to sleep in it!)

I bought this product from the nearest shop. It is perfect for my rabbit monty who has loved it for four years. it is a very good product for traveling to the vet and bringing new rabbits home, although the handle is a little bit flimsy so i support it by holding my hand underneath the main box bit. Other than this it was the best carrier that i came across.

This is perfect for going to a vet where there may be predatory animals! I have a mid sized rabbit and this has plenty of room, plenty of ventilation without the animal being exposed/visible to larger animals. I had no problems with the hinges or catches and replacements are available for any breakages in the future! The fact the base is quite deep is good to avoid any spillage if the animal has any accidents whilst being transported.

Overall good product and good price.

wel.... 1st of all i dont understand the critics! people, push the hinges down when the lid is vertical, listen for a tiny click and job done. I got this after going with my rabbit to the vets and my bun simply wouldnt come out even when tipping the box up. the vets said cat carriers are no good for rabbits as they need to be lifted, however mine hates to be picked up but im hoping the he can be examined with the lid open as he is being castrated on thursday! hope its good but just like all the other carriers he would not go in! wish me luck! ;P

Just like everyone else, this fell apart on me when I took it off the shelf, but I figured I could sort it out.
I couldn't.

But, when I got it home, my partner had a look and clipped the hinges in place and it has been perfect since! So, have another look and get them to 'click' into place.

I first put my guinea pigs in here when taking them home, but the small handle at the top worried me as it made the box swing a bit, so I ended up just carrying it like a normal box.
The opening is good, it's easy to get piggies in and out and it's one of the larger carry cases that could fit both of them in.

I had to see for myself why this has been given a 1 star and a 5 star as it's the only one I like because of the opening. (The 'usual' looking carriers have that annoying opening where the animal has to get out itself as there is no arm room, or you have to undo numerous clips to get the whole top off)
This admittedly shouldn't have plastic fixings as it does have to hold an animal after all but they can be clipped in, although I couldn't do it myself, my husband did it in about 2 seconds! Lift the lid so it is vertical and the black 'hinges' aren't bent and push the 'hinges' down. There will be a little 'click', and that's it!!
I must admit there were 4 in the shop in total and all of them wasn't clipped in properly and 2 of the staff had no idea but told me 'this one isn't very good' but I thought I'd get it anyway and use cable ties (as mentioned by another reviewer) purely because of the opening. But it works fine and is a great size for my 2 rabbits!

I agree with the review below and shoud have read it before i bought this product.
I bought this carrier for my two guinea pigs as it was the only one big enough for both of them. One of them jumped out before I could close the lid. Fortunately this happened while the box was standing in their run. But even worse, you cannot carry the box using the handle on top as it will fall apart!
I wouldn't recommend to buy this carrier as it is not safe to transport pets and hope I can return it.

Not a happy bunny

I completely agree with another review left on here about this product. When picked up off the shelf, it fell apart, the only other one on the shelf did the same. Thinking they just hadn't been clicked together properly I bought it. Once at home tried in vain to make the clips actually work. When my rabbit was placed inside, the top lid yet again came away. I was unable to return the product as I had to take my rabbit to the vet early the following morning so have void any sort of return. Have had to secure the product myself with cable ties.
Totally unhappy with this product. I know it's not terribly expensive, but that's not the point. The product does not serve its purpose!

This Pet Caddy box has been loyal to me for many years. The more conventional cat travel boxes and such have come, broken or not been ideal and gone, but this single caddy has served me and my 3 guinea pigs for 6 years and looks good as new. Fantastic value, tough and durable. The top opening is easy to pop in a get out my pigs without trying to reach through a side opening for them. The one and only flaw is you have to check and double check you've clicked the locks in place before you pick it up, else you'll be left holding onto the top with the bottom swinging underneath.
