Mainly used as a stepping stool

This was one of the first toys I bought for my first 2 rats, however I have yet to see them play with it. It is mainly used as an obstacle or a stepping stool to get to a higher obstacle. I would be careful of leaving it on a higher level of the cage incase it is pushed off as it is quite heavy.

It is also quite hard to clean, my rats are quite fond of peeing on it, and as there are so many layers of rope, a long soak is necessary.

That being said I found it to be very durable and tough, for a pet that enjoys playing with it, it would be cheap and good value for money... just not for my rats!

I bought this product for my new guinea pig. The ball is great for his teeth and brightens up the cage, but he dosent use it at all !

I've read so many reviews on this product about animals not being interested and it being better for a dog, frankly this annoys me as toys like this are all about trial and error. My Guinea Pig doesn't like it, most likely because a lot of guinea pigs are timid and its heavy, big and makes noise (all the things my guinea pig frets away from) but other more curious ones would love it. My Rabbits however love it. (and they aren't all exactly young or big. My Giant Rabbit rips it to shreds within a week (but she rips everything to shreds so I take this as her enjoying it) My Silver Fox rabbit, who isn't a big rabbit absolutely adores it, I hear her at night chucking it around the hutch and find after a while the strings pulled out showing good use on her part. My Belgian Hare used to love it and do the same until she had a massive operation which has left her timid and unsure, I do find her throwing it around from time to time but not often. It obviously does go down better with different types of rabbit but you'll never know for sure until you try it, plus remember that rabbits do most of their playing at night while you sleep. So while your curled up asleep they could be throwing it around having a great old time (and you've only seen them sniff it) So before you read reviews on this product saying it would be better for dogs, please ignore and take this into consideration. You do have to replace them regularly, but thats only due to them getting great use....and also because its rope and it gets unhygienic after a while.

I bought this for my previous two rats. it's cheap and cheerful, and they certainly got my moneys worth out of it.

they would throw it around the cage, perch on it, and generally give it the same harsh treatment they gave all their other loose toys in the cage.

they would also gnaw it, and take some of the threads away to their bed for bedding.

they liked it. I'd buy another with no hesitation.
it seems that not all pets enjoy them as much as mine did, but at that price it's worth a go. it's good enough value that if they don't enjoy it, it's not a big deal.

My rescued degu usually chews up rope products to make his nest - has sniffed this once or twice, urinated on it, and ignored it ever since!!!!!!!! Waste of money!!!!! :-(

We have had this ball for a year, inside a hutch housing two guinea's. I have never seen either guinea pig, play or look remotely interested at it.
Waste of money.

I got this for my rabbit and he sniffed it a few times and just left it. It just sits in his hutch covered in shavings and if anything, just gets wee'd on occasionally.
Think this is better for dogs !

I bought this for my guinea pigs , they didn't even have a look at it so I decided to give it to some of my younger rabbits they didn't find it fun at all I then gave it to my older rabbits they played with it for about 3 minutes but then moved on to something else , so now it is just sitting gathering up hay and fur. I would not recommend this it is probably best for dogs.
