I bought this product for my two cats when i got it home i started
To fill it up has i was filling it up the water was coming out i then realised you have to fill it up from the bottom i started doing that and when the water bottle was almost full the lid came off and got totally soaked as well as my lamanite flooring i returned it the same day for a refund this product is aload of rubbish

This product just doesn't work as it leaks. I am surprised that Pets at Home are selling an inferior product and lowering their reputation. They should read product the reviews and take it off their shelves.

We brought this product for our 2 kittens to use. They currently move their bowls all around the floor constantly leaving puddles everywhere, so we were after something that could be left for long periods of time, that was big enough and stand alone that they wouldn't be able to fiddle with and make a mess.

We are really dissapointed as this product-we thought-was exactly what we needed but upon trying to fill it up first time round it was like a comedy act! As fast as it was going in it was coming out! So I came on to my blackberry and had a look at the reviews and followed the helpful advice that others had given I.e tipping it upside down etc etc. Initially this worked and then after watching it a good 20seconds or so, sure enough it started to trickle out and then pour out! It really is no good! The lip is sitting too low at the front which is obviously for easy use for the cats but logically the water will obviously just come out!

We are taking it back as soon as possible and I will just have to hunt for a better designed one! Save yourself the dissapointment and don't get this one!

This does require a certain technique as I got water everywhere the first couple of goes. Some instructions with the product would be good. 1) Ensure lid is securely in place. 2) Fill upside down. 3) Keep the jug upside down and take the base and place over of the bottom of the jug. 4) Then tip over correct way up and hopefully only a small amount of water will seep into the dish and it should stop! I made the mistake of turning over the jug and then placing it on the base and I think that destroyed any vacumn. Next step is will the cats use it? I hope so as they didn't like a prior fountain I had and I only saw them drinking from water bowls I left outside.

as a previous review said i held the water container upside down and filled from the bottom placed the base on and turned upright and for 3 days it worked. Then my kitten put two paws on top of the lid and i could not get to the container fast enough to stop it putting all its water on the floor. The basic problem is that there is no seal in the lid to stop the preasure being released at the slightest touch. There are other product some even cheaper than this one that do not have lids which must work better for me.

I decided to get one for my cat because the store no longer stocks the filters for her water fountain. I went to fill it as soon as I put it together and got a mess for my trouble. The water level in the bowl wouldn't stop rising until the level in the container was the same. This was on a flat surface with the lid on. I won't be using this product and plan to return it as soon as possible.

My views are a bit mixed on this product, it's a fantastic way to make sure my cats always have water, it's easy to use, easy to clean, simple brilliant product...however...I've only had this a couple of weeks but already on two occasions when I've come down in the morning the bottle is empty and all the water is all over the floor. The bottle is still in place so it hasn't been knocked over and spilled that way, to be honest I have no idea how it's happening, but somehow about once a week it does this, and the bottle holds a lot of water so it's a BIG BIG puddle when it does happen!

I'm going to keep using it for a few weeks and see if it keeps happening and if it does then I might go back to a good old fashioned bowl.

I cannot understand the negative reviews for this product ... it's soooo easy to fill up, simply fill with water upside down prob an idea to support the lid with your hand or just stand in the bowl. I do it in the kicthen sink and while it's upside down place the bowl on it and then turn the whole thing upside down. Naturally the water will come out of the hole at the bottom and into the bowl but it creates a vacuum so no more water comes out of the hole until the animal drinks the water and it seeps more out. Haven't had one problem with leaking and have used it whilst I've been away for a couple of days ... I have one water station for my two cats, and it saves me filling the water up every day ... plus my cats like stale water (as most do) so they drink more than they probably would have done if I kept filling it up fresh ... happy cats and less work for me ;)

This is brilliant. My cat loves it. One problem is that in first use it poured water all over the floor. I found the best way to stop this is to fill it up (from the bottom) and while it is upside down, press down on the tub to seal the lid. Leave in the sink to make sure it is not leaking. I have only had the one leaking problem and have had no others. Have already recommended to friends and family and I only got it yesterday!
