This item would substitute a cannon ball with little problem. It is much too hard and heavy, apparent from the shriek when it landed on my boxer's paw; it is also too big for her mouth.

The dog is mildly interested when I roll the ball past her, but I dare not throw it nor bounce it for fear of injury or damage to property.

I am very surprised by the other reviews (three - all five star at the time of writing).

This is great! At first both of my spaniels wouldn't go near them but after a few weeks we started playing game with them, even though the price is a bit pricey there great. Both my spaniels always chew every ball i get them but this one has last 4+ months! Would defiantly be purchasing more in the future!

Momo loves her rubber ball, its great as it goes along way, especially when it bounces on a hard floor.
she cant chew it to pieces but can get all the satisfaction of chewing it! love this ball!!
