Birds seem to love this feeder - no sooner have you filled it and put it out - you see the birds there and the nibble marks on the logs.
I don't fill all the holes as you would go through a large number of logs - but otherwise best feeder I have bought in some time.

Excellent feeder all birds love it. However if you fill it as per the illustration you could easily use a pack of logs a day, which would work out pretty expensive. What I do is split a log between all the holes when they have eaten it they revert to the sunflower hearts which are their second favourite. I will also probably have a go at making my own filling and stuff the log when it is almost set.

Excellent lightweight construction. The easy-to-clean material is an improvement on a real wood log; no more attempting to scrub mould off a disintergrating piece of wood.

My garden birds were visitng it within a short time of it being installed. Unfortunatly, the Squirrels and Jackdaws soon joined in.

The holes are a good size, and because they go all the way through the log it is easy to give them a good scrub with a brush.

I stuff the holes with my own mix of food (see photo), as well as the Suet Logs it is intended for. I am currently using a mix of finely grated cheese and ground peanuts.

Only downside? No guard, so greedy Squirrels and large birds can easily access. A guard would, however, prevent access by Woodpeckers and Nuthatches. Can't have it all ways!

Great feeder, is plastic, durable and long lasting, does it's job and comes with free suet logs at the moment which is a real bargain, perfect christmas present! The only downside is that it doesn't have the wire hanger as pictures it is actually a small plastic hole moulded onto the top of the feeder but still does the job and hangs in the trees lovely! Excellent value [...]
