I recommend not to hang this in the cage as my pet had the seed off the rop in one day! I didn't recognise as I was downstairs and thought she was sleeping (because it was I had just brought her home from the store). I had this treat a while ago, and as long as the company haven't changed the reciepe, my hamster will probably still like it. The seed drops off really easily so it will make a mess too.

I bought this for my young Syrian hamster mainly as a bordem breaker. When I first put it in his cage he didn't really show any interest in it, But as the weeks have gone on he has gradually started to pull some of the seeds off however he doesn't really use it a lot. He finds it difficult to use as it is hanging on a string... I will probably try just putting it on the cage floor instead.

Easy to place in the cage, I just hang it from the top of my hamster cage and watch him nibble and breaks bits off.
It's good as they have to work out how they are going to get their treat rather then just handing it to them.

i got 2 female Chinese hamsters today (i love them) and they love this treat it hangs from the top of the cage and it is a fun game for them trying to bite of all the yummy seeds :) healthy too ! i would definately reccomend it :D

I bought this as a boredom breaker for one of my Syrian boys to hang in his cage.

When I first put it in the cage, he couldn't leave it alone; shoving it around with his paws, biting the edges, tugging on the rope. After he broke off a bit, he went to eat in bed and seemed to enjoy the taste. I liked the fact that it wasn't solidified with a load of honey, making it healthier than a lot of similar treats like this. The rope is pretty sturdy as well which is good since the treat isn't lightweight.

Unfortunately, my boy never really bothered with it again after his first play aside from finishing off the sunflower seeds on the edges (he left the seed cases on there, ate the seeds right out of them.) As much as he seemed to originally enjoy it, it seemed he decided that getting food out of his bowl was easier than pulling it off the star, even though breaking bits off didn't appear too difficult. I've passed it onto a young female rat but it seems she doesn't find it stimulating either and hasn't tried to eat any of it or investigate the rope.

I think it is a hit or miss product depending on your pet's personal tastes but I would recommend it, as I can imagine some critters would enjoy the challenge of earning their treat by wrestling with it, plus it looks good hanging in the cage and is a generously-sized treat for what it cost.

I brought this for when I first got my hamster, Bailies. She chewed it non stop and I even caught her hanging on it! She loved it and I am going to buy her another one very soon! The only thing that is wrong with it is that it can fill up a lot of space if you have a small cage.
