Bought another one because i like the design, but that fell apart within a couple of weeks.

Our cats used this but tore it apart easily despite having trimmed (weekly) claws. It needs to be much more durable. We have had about 15 different types of scratchers, four from Pets at Home. If you have to have a vertical post then I'd recommend the Giant scratch and play. We have two Maine Coons who instantly took to it and it has not come apart. They also like vying for who is king of the perch on top if it.

If your cat doesn't mind lat scratchers I would go for the Willows Scratch Box which is half the price of the feather scratching post and lasts longer.

As said many times on the review for this product it is just not fit for purpose. We bought one of these and the corner scratch post. They lasted less than 2 weeks before disintegrating leaving a nasty mess all over the floors as well as being useless as the sisal has all come away from the pole.

Do not buy this product as you will be sorely disappointed and out of pocket.

I have to say this is honestly the worst cat scratching post I have ever bought in my 30-odd years of being "owned" by cats!

Granted, it looks lovely.. but that's about all it has going for it. It's extremely lightweight and as a result it scuds all over the floor when in use; the metal screw fixing attaching the pole to the base didn't sit flush on the one I bought, and the laminate floor in my kitchen is now scratched where it was positioned.

As other reviewers have reported, the blasted thing started to disintegrate after a week or so, with the seagrass rope on the base going first (I can only presume this was because my adult cats were frustrated by how small it was and went for the biggest surface area). The rope on the pole itself followed suit soon after, and I would have taken it back to complain, had I kept the receipt - foolishly I binned it soon after purchase.

Which is what I will now be doing with what remains of this product.

I strongly advise people NOT to waste their money on such a poor-quality scratching post - it's certainly not fit for purpose at all.

I bought this 6 months ago as a second post for my cat to use upstairs.It looks beautiful but that's about all
It's not tall enough for an adult cat and so lightweight that it falls over as soon as she uses it,and she is only small.
After about 3 months the sisal started to break up,it shreds and leaves such a mess on the floor,then the rope unravels so all in all a waste of money and certainly not fit for purpose, I wish I had read these reviews before buying ,it's now in the bin .Do not buy !!

Like many of the other reviewers on here, I found the sisal on this started to unravel very quickly after purchase. ... I think it was only about a week after I bought it that the rope on the base came unstuck. Unfortunately I no longer had the receipt so I tried gluing it back together, but a few days later the rope on the post started to unravel as well. ... I also find that it sheds whenever it is used. A total waste of money.

Bought this for Oscar at 12 weeks old. Oscar has played everyday with it and really enjoyed it. Now Oscar is 8 months old and a lot bigger. Therefore when Oscar scratches, the post falls over! This is a fantastic product for a kitten but they will outgrow this post! But this did not cost a lot and I will purchase a bigger one that is more sturdy. Lots of reviews say it is not value for money however when I think of the money I have spent on toys and gimmicks for Oscar over the last 5 months, I realise that this is great value for money!

A lovely looking alternative to garish carpet style scratching posts (which usually last about 4 years) but fell apart 3 weeks after cat received his Christmas gift - unravelled, willow twine all adrift from where glued and shredded. Cat not impressed with his present as not fit for it's intended use; owner not impressed with hole in his pocket and taking it back.

I have 4 cats adult cats who enjoy scratching the furniture so it is essential for me to have a good scratching post. Their current post had about 4 years usage and it was time to purchase another one as their old one had become very worn indeed. After browsing the site I came across this attractive willow post and thought that this would look nice in the house rather than something bright in colour. Not one of the cats will use it mainly because it is VERY small. Much more suitable for a kitten. It really should state this in the description as no adult cat could scratch this comfortably. It is far too lightweight as well so if one of my cats did attempt to scratch it, it will just fall over. Unfortunatly it is now redundant and a total waste of money.
