The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the dog's current weight, average calorie requirements and a desired weight loss of 1-2% of body weight per week. Daily food intake should be adjusted every 4 weeks after reweighing the dog. This diet can be fed long term for dogs prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. In case of hyperlipidaemia the recommended period of use is initially up to 2 months, although it can be used long term. For the regulation of glucose supply (diabetes mellitus), the recommended period of use is initially up to 6 months.
