Care & behaviour: Golden Retrievers require an effective care routine along with good food nutrition to help manage their skin and coat condition, body size and general wellbeing. Grooming: Brush daily to encourage natural oil release and to remove any excess hair (shedding tends to be seasonal, worse in Spring and Autumn). General health & teeth: Check eyes regularly to ensure they are clear, clean, and healthy looking. Check for signs of weight gain by weighing regularly (split daily food amounts across two regular meal times and allow for any treats within this daily amount). Regularly check dental hygiene (training to accept teeth brushing as a puppy will help maintain oral health). Exercise & play: Typically 60+ minutes moderate exercise per day (playing games during exercise helps keep them mentally stimulated). Golden Retrievers can be gentle, tolerant and excitable, they are very sociable with both humans and other dogs (training will be more successful when started early, mentally challenging and made fun).
