You are also likely to need to treat your tank to make sure it stays in great condition. 

Temperate fish are often a great choice if you would like to introduce fish to your home. Often beautifully vibrant, temperate fish don’t need a heater, so their equipment set up can be a little easier than others. However, you will need to make sure that your tank stays at a stable room temperature away from radiators and direct sunlight. You are also likely to need a filter, fish-friendly gravel and live plants to keep their environment in good condition. 

With so many different species of fish available, each needing different levels of care, it’s important to find out as much as you can so that you can make the right decision for you. While some species are great options for beginners, there are others that need more specialist care. It important to choose the right type of fish to suit your experience and lifestyle. Coldwater fish are often the lowest maintenance. Different types will however require different care.
