At AVA they understand what makes your dog different. That’s why this tailored AVA breed health formulation is specially made for Cocker Spaniels and includes +Imuvita to support their immunity. Cocker Spaniels are typically faithful and affectionate, known as the happiest of dog breeds and often want nothing more than to be cuddled. Cocker Spaniels are traditionally a gundog and generally a healthy breed although you can be susceptible to some hereditary health conditions, skin irritations and joint problems. Excellent skin and coat condition and a good digestive function are important for medium breed dogs and are a sign of overall general good health. Their AVA breed health formulation is especially tempting, containing a source of quality chicken protein for sensitive stomachs, prebiotics for digestive health and added Glucosamine and Chondroitin.

Important information:

Care & behaviour: Cocker Spaniels require an effective care routine along with good food nutrition to help manage their skin and coat condition, body size and general wellbeing.

Grooming: Daily brushing encourages natural oil release and removes any excess hair (trimming 3-4 times each year may reduce shedding).

General health & teeth: Regularly check eyes to ensure they are clear, clean, and healthy looking. Check for signs of weight gain by weighing regularly (split daily food amounts across two regular meal times and allow for any treats within this daily amount). Regularly check dental hygiene (training to accept teeth brushing as a puppy will help maintain oral health).

Exercise & play: Typically 60 minutes moderate exercise per day (playing games during exercise helps keeps them mentally stimulated). Cocker Spaniels can be gentle, tolerant and excitable, they are very sociable with both humans and other dogs (training will be more successful when started early, mentally challenging and made fun).

Please remember this is only a guide - individual metabolism, activity levels, age and environment should all be considered when calculating the daily amount to feed your dog.
They advise that you only feed this AVA kibble to Cocker Spaniels from 12 months old.

Weigh out the daily feeding amount and divide into 2 equal portions to feed to your dog at regular times each day. If you are new to AVA kibble or are transitioning from one food to another, it is advisable to introduce their food slowly over 7-10 days.

Be careful not to overfeed and if you give treats, reduce the amount of food given to allow for the calories in the treats. They also recommend that you weigh your dog regularly to help manage their food intake and to spot any signs of weight change early on.
