Product description

Ideal for rearing young or weak animals, these feeding syringes support feeding of newborn, underweight kittens, puppies, and small animals.

Beaphar feeding syringes are invaluable for anyone trying to rear very young or weak animals. This pack contains two 12ml syringes and is ideal for feeding Beaphar Lactol or Beaphar Small Animal Milk.

Features:

  • For use with any milk replacer: Beaphar Lactol Feeding Syringes are for use with Beaphar Lactol Kitten Milk or Puppy Milk, or Beaphar Small Animal Milk, but can be used with any animal milk replacer
  • For hand-rearing: Helps support newborn, underweight and orphaned kittens, puppies and small animals
  • Specially designed for young animals: The syringes have been designed for feeding newborn and growing animals (kittens, puppies, guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs etc).
  • Two syringes in one box: Contains two 12ml syringes, one with a blunt tip and one with a tapered tip
  • Easy to use: Fill the blunt-ended syringe with Beaphar Lactol and gently press the plunger to ensure the liquid is flowing. If an animal is chewing, rather than sucking, it has finished feeding and the bottle should be withdrawn

For over 80 years, Beaphar has provided pet owners convenient access to high-quality care products and medicines at affordable prices. Their product range includes flea and tick control, worming treatments, calming and behavioural products, as well as dental and joint care products. This is because they know that pets are a cherished part of the family too.

How to use:

1. Ensure all equipment is clean and sterile before use, preferably by soaking in a sterilising solution.
2. Mix the milk powder as directed and allow to cool until lukewarm (38°C or blood temperature).
3. Fill the blunt tip syringe with the prepared milk replacer and gently press the plunger to ensure the liquid is flowing.
4. It is a good idea to support the animal in a towel. This helps restrain limbs if necessary and absorb any spillages.
5. Gently depress the plunger to squeeze a bead of liquid onto the tip of the syringe and touch the animal's tongue. This should feel like a nipple and trigger swallowing, in which case continue until the animal seems content. DO NOT SQUEEZE HARD in case you force liquid into the lungs.

If this method does not work, then fill the tapered tip syringe.

Gently insert into the animal's mouth, release a few drops into the cheek, and allow the animal to swallow. Be prepared to repeat this every 2–3 hours until the animal is strong enough to feed from a bottle.

Warnings and Safety:

For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children. Always fully read the product packaging before use.
