When your cat's kidneys are damaged, the kidneys...
After an emergency vet visit, changed my boy's food to this and it has helped no end! So far, he has been back to his normal self. Was told they felt bladder stones, huge bill if needing op. Hoping this diet helps with avoiding 🙏 Not cheap, but cheaper than the alternative 😬
My cat has been on the Hill’s c/d Multicare Stress + Metabolic dry version for a couple of years after being recommended by the vet to aid/maintain weight loss (thus avoiding risk of diabetes) and manage stress. He really likes the dry food and it has been very effective for weight loss - the vet was impressed that our cat got down to the ideal weight for his size/age as apparently it is challenging for cats to lose weight. He’s a very good boy, drinking frequently from his Petkit water fountain so don’t haven to worry about his hydration. However, more recently he is occasionally sick, whereby he gobbles down too much despite me rationing small portions at meal times. I checked once again with the vet and she suggested incorporating the wet version, adopting a mixed food approach. He has only been on the pouches for a few days - he has one for breakfast and dry for the rest of the day, following Hills’ suggested portion/weight. I’m delighted to state that he absolutely loves it! And is then very happy to switch to the dry food for the rest of his meals - I was concerned he would only want the chunks in gravy going forward but has happily accepted the mix. He is very content and hasn’t been sick since starting so fingers crossed he continues to remain in great health.
Works great
Can you please tell us why this prescription food has been out of stock for so long and when you plan to re-stock? elder dogs do not do well with changes in their food.
I used to love this food but I think they've changed the formula. It now comes out of the can mushy ... harder for the dog to eat and hard to get off the spoon. Can we have the old formula back, please?
Together with the d/d Dry Food, Sul, our 6 1/2 year old Jack Russell, gets this as an evening treat for dinner. Suffering with terrible skin problems, the vet recommended that we change his diet to the Hill's Prescription D/D range - we've never looked back! Thank you Hill's!
