Product description

Spacious 80cm cage with narrow bars, includes 2 platforms with ladders, hammock, bottle, toilet, bowl, and a large front door with safety lock.
  • Large rat cage
  • Accessories included
  • Large front door
  • Safety lock

At 80 cm tall, the Freddy Rat Home is a spacious cage for rats. Thanks to its very narrow bar spacing of 9.5 mm the cage is not only suitable for rats but also for chinchillas. This cage comes with 2 platforms, 2 ladders, a hammock, a drinking bottle (500ml), corner toilet and a stainless-steel feeding bowl. You can suspend the hammock from the ceiling of the cage. Doing so stimulates climbing behaviour, whilst giving your rat a wonderful place to relax and sleep.

The horizontal wire mesh adds extra climbing encouragement. The large door at the front ensures easy access to the cage for daily cleaning, feeding and tending to your pet. The door is fitted with a safety lock system to prevent the animals from escaping. Includes 2 handles on top of the cage for transport or moving the cage around.

Features

  • Large rat cage - Horizontal bars to encourage climbing

  • Large front door with safety lock - Keep your rats safe

  • Good

Good cage, I have two rats and they seem to enjoy it, would say it's only suitable if you are giving your pets lots of time outside the cage too.

    • Cage for rats

The best cage to have , as they can climb up the cage and they get quite a lot of exercise , a bit big but other than that it's amazing for them

      • Sturdy cage but a nightmare to clean and hang accessories!

I bought this cage as it was the biggest one I could see in store to house my two rats. Had I known how difficult it would be to clean the cage and hang accessories in, I would never have bought it in the first place! You only have a small opening at the front. Spot cleaning is a nightmare. If you have nervous rats, you will really struggle to get them out of the cage! You have to unclip the cage to separate it from the base. The platforms are just a pee magnet for rats, so I ended up removing them. Plus, trying to manoeuvre your arm through a tiny opening to effectively wipe it clean every day is near impossible. The only way to be able to hang and remove accessories is if you turn the cage upside-down. Unfortunately, that does mean bedding, poo, and whatever else is caught on hammocks etc falls out onto the floor. Had I done my research before hand, I would definitely have gone with a different cage. There are bigger, more accessible cages available for a much better price!

        • A nightmare to clean because of the tiny opening

The cage is very spacious, and plenty big enough for 2 rats, but the opening is tiny. Cleaning the cage will be a nightmare, and even putting in toys, or picking up the rats is difficult.

          • Inconvenient

It's really hard to get anything in and out of the cage. It is also hard to get my rats in and out especially if they are in an inconvenient place
