It is important you keep your Microchip Pet Door Connect clean and tidy to ensure it continues to function reliably. Wipe clean with a soft, non abrasive cloth and pet safe cleaners. Clean periodically to avoid the build up of excess mud, dirt, and cat hair. Please ensure that the sensors, tunnel floor and draft excluder, are clean and free of dirt and hair, as this can block the sensors and disrupt the operation of the product. After cleaning, leave the cat flap for approximately 10 seconds for the unit to settle before normal operation returns.

    Warnings and Safety:

DIY installation may involve the use of power tools or cut glass. Safety equipment (gloves, eye protection, etc. ) should be used and if in doubt consult a professional to carry out the installation. Under no circumstances should you cut or drill through the tunnel of the main assembly of the unit as this contains the microchip reader and will prevent the unit from working properly. The SureFlap Door is ideal for mounting in single or double-glazed windows. If you have a double-glazed window you will need to get a replacement unit manufactured with the hole cut in it. Please use a qualified glazier to supply the unit glass unit. When working with cut glass always wear protective gloves as the edges may be sharp. For installation in the wall of your property, please consult a qualified builder. The motorised catch and manual lock are provided exclusively to prevent the entry or exit of unwanted animals and is not a security device. Sure Petcare cannot accept liability for unintended use and the owner of this product accepts full responsibility for supervising the access in and out of the home that it provides. In households with children, it is essential to include the cat flap in child proofing considerations. Misuse of the cat flap by a child may result in the child coming into contact with potential dangers. For this reason, young children should be monitored at all times when in the immediate vicinity of the cat flap.

Caution: Prior to installation, it is the responsibility of the user to consult all building codes which may influence the fitting of the cat flap and assess the suitability of a given installation. The user must also consider potential hazards present inside or outside the cat flap as well as the impact that subsequent modifications to your property may have on the existence and use of your cat flap. It is recommended that these assessments are conducted in consultation with a construction professional. Do not install the cat flap in a fire door, as it will render the fire door unfit for purpose. Sure Petcare recommends that the cat flap is used with your cat's implanted microchip, however it may also be operated using the Sure Petcare RFID Collar Tag. If using the collar tag, it should only be used with a safety collar which incorporates a breakaway buckle. Sure Petcare cannot accept liability for any injury or death caused by a cat's collar.

    • Working great after 3 months

I see some comments here suggest there have been issues after a few months so I want to highlight I have had this foe three months Dec 23 to March 24. I have not used any curfews on the app but all alerts have been correct and the flap has always closed from what I am aware. I put a good set of batteries in the flap in late December and I have just got the warning that the batteries are low but still working, that makes it about 13 weeks in cold weather. I had issues linking this to my eero wifi mesh system, port forwarding did help but still the eero was throttling the connection so I had to connect the hub direct to my Virgin modem/router. I had had no issues with connect at all and the flap is in my shed which is about 14 metres away from the hub in the house. Personally apart from the hours I wasted setting it up due to my wifi system I have had no issues with this flap. You do really need to use good non rechargeable batteries unfortunately. I did try to use rechargeable batteries first but the flap kept on displaying low charge as rechargeable batteries are 1.2v not 1.5v. I'm only giving 4 stars as at this price there should be an option to plug this into the mains. I may even consider wiring up a 6v direct current source in the future.

      • Too many serious flaws

While the product works ok. it has two quite major flaws. 1. If the wifi fails in any way while your cat is outside. they will be locked out. Same goes for if the batteries die. 2. The description states that the batteries will last for months. I have tried this with two sets of batteries and they didn't last a couple of weeks

        • Would be great.. if it worked.

Unfortunately I've had nothing but issues with the car flap. After a return because it was always logging the cats as gong out, after 4 months it simply stopped recognising my cats chips.

          • Brilliant cat door

Worth the money in my opinion, love knowing when our cat has come in and when he has gone out just by checking my phone. Can easily check entry or exit history by phone notifications or looking at the app. Sometimes not knowing if he has been out all night is worrying but then reassured for example to see on my phone that he has been home and only left an hour ago. Peace of mind also knowing that only our cat can enter the cat flap due to the microchip. Curfew times work well if needed. The app notifies you also when batteries are running low. Long battery life. Only downside is setting up on the hub can be tricky, but once set up and connected to the hub all is good.

            • Works brilliantly so far

Saw a few mixed reviews but decided on it for our 2 kittens. Within 30 mins they had figured it out and happily in and out. The stats are great and it's really nice to see their movements.
