My Syrian hamster LOVES THIS! It's best used upside down in cage on top of sawdust or on the floor for free roaming play. She uses it as a nest with additional platform on the top & loves to chew it!

I brought this product thinking it would be fine for my Syrian hamster who is only a few months old. I'm sure perhaps for dwarf hamsters this model perhaps would be ideal, though my male Syrian simply climbed over most of it and for good reason. I'm personally glad he did as he could've possibly found himself trapped or caught/injured in the prickles of parts of the maze otherwise, although that kinda takes the fun out of the idea of a hamster maze! This isn't a badly designed product overall and it's clear plenty of work has gone into making the product; although this simply is nowhere near large enough for a full grown Syrian hamster, let alone my 3 month old little fella either, and also places such hamsters at risk of either getting stuck, possibly worse should the hamster catch it's eye on a loose bit of straw), or not able to enjoy the full experience of what the product is designed for. My advice to the people who produce this product, would be for the kindness of hamsters, to produce this product in various sizes (so small for dwarf hamsters, and medium (add on an extra half inch either side of the maze wall) for Syrian hamsters.
