Product description

Veterinary-approved dietetic food only to be used based on recommendation of a vet
  • Adapted protein content
  • Supports liver function
  • Low copper
  • Vet recommended

If your dog suffers with liver problems, such as liver insufficiency or liver disease, a specially formulated hepatic diet with specifically adapted nutrients can help to support them. Available in 1.5kg, 6kg, and 12kg bags, Royal Canin Hepatic is tailor-made to support the nutritional needs of dogs with liver issues. This exclusive formula contains a specifically adapted, high quality protein content - including highly digestible vegetable proteins. These nutrients help to support your dog's liver function in cases of chronic liver insufficiency. As copper can be toxic to the liver, feeding a diet with reduced levels of this nutrient is important and Royal Canin Hepatic is suitably low in copper. Royal Canin Hepatic is formulated with a high energy content to help reduce the volume of your dog's meal and decrease their intestinal load, whilst ensuring that - if the liver is able to - there is enough energy available to support regeneration. As part of the Royal Canin Veterinary Range, it is important that this product is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional. To cater to each dog's individual preferences and support a variable appetite, Royal Canin Hepatic is also available as wet food. If you're considering mixed feeding, simply follow the on-pack feeding guidelines to ensure your dog gets an accurate amount of both wet and dry food for optimal benefit. At Royal Canin, they're committed to providing nutritional solutions to your pet's needs. All of their products undergo an extensive quality control process in order to guarantee the optimum quality of food, as well as catering to your dog's specific dietary requirements and lifestyle. This means that when your dog eats Royal Canin Hepatic, it's getting a complete and balanced diet.

Royal Canin put the animal first in everything they do. Every decision they make is based on years of study in their own centre and on partnerships with veterinary schools, universities and breeders. The aim is always the same, to provide precise nutritional solutions to meet the need of your pet. Those needs can be very different and one food does not suit all. Age, breed, size and lifestyle are all taken into account. Royal Canin were the first to meet the different needs of small, medium and large breeds, and to develop breed specific foods.

  • Hepatics, Mature, Gastro we have used a few

There are a number of reasons we love Royal Canin, the range is vast and in my case having a dog that is diabetic, heart disease, liver disease blind and death it’s important to me that I know he’s getting the best I can give him. The hepatics have helped kept his liver enzymes stable. They are a perfect manageable size for smaller dogs. We also have gastro which is his latest favourite. After going off food with pancreas problems and fluctuating readings with his glucose my vet recently introduced these to us. What a winner, he loves them which is an absolute relief as he won’t eat much more at the moment. Having had two unwell dogs at the same time it was handy they both enjoyed the taste of different Royal Canin biscuits so happy to share. I would also recommend the Canin recovery canned food. Although my boy wouldn’t eat it on his own it was easy to administer via large syringe and had him back on track. Lastly I love that they do a loyalty programme. With the cost of pet products today and having a dog with so many issues, it’s great to get a free bag of food after so many purchases
